Hudson came to us early August as a Board and Train for some pretty severe (trying to bite people, lunging at people/dogs, zero threshold) behavioral issues. Upon our consultation I was shown an adolescent GSD that you could see the fear in his eyes. His life had been turned upside down a couple times going from Humane Society to a rescue, to traveling across the country to get adopted but was not what the family expected so they couldn’t keep him.. so I teamed up with Save Them All Animal Rescue and we got this guy figured out. In a little over a month I’ve had him we’ve had at least 5 successful greetings with new people, we can go on a walk without reacting to stimuli and focus on handler, and we’ve even gone some places off leash and have a GREAT recall and even playing with our smallest pack member Pretzel 🥨 ! We still have some struggles of Barrier frustration and now battling puppy antics (because he’s gotten SO comfortable to show us his true puppy self!) and we still have a long road, BUT this guy has come a long way and we are SO excited to be apart of it ❤️

SIDNEY NEEDS A HOME ❤️

His owners have made the tough decision to attempt to find Sidney a better resting spot! He was placed in their care due to some sad circumstances and they just are not in a place to take on another dog at this time.

Sidney does have Hip Dysplasia, and hes on supplements for that but at this time does not need any medication for it per the vet. He has been okay with everyone we’ve introduced him to so far and he’s been great with all big dogs he’s been introduced to. If interested, please reach out and I can give more information or schedule a meet and greet!

Sidney is with us for some cooperative care training and some behavior modification. He had previously been sedated multiple times to take care of his chronic ear infection which of course resulted in it returning due to not being able to treat when needed.

Over the last couple weeks we’ve been working on allowing a muzzle to be put on him (and him being comfortable and not stressed in the muzzle) we’ve been heavily working on allowing people to touch and treat his ears. Yesterday, we took him to the vet to put it to the test, and he passed with flying colors. No sedation needed! ❤️ he allowed the technician to do everything she needed as well as let the doctor get the ear swabs they needed to know what we were treating. He also did so well for the ear cleaning & treatment of the ears. We are so proud of him and how far he’s come in his training!

I cannot stress enough about getting your dogs comfortable with Veterinary staff doing what they need to. Or at least muzzle conditioning your dog so that’s not an added stress when it needs to be applied.
