Help Keep Pets Fed! 🐾

Our Pet Food Pantry helps local families make sure their beloved pets have enough to eat and we need you to help keep the pantry stocked and organized!

We’re looking for Pet Food Pantry Volunteers to help:
🐶 Bag pet food
🐱 Stock and organize the pantry
📦 Sort donations
🧹 Keep the pantry and work area clean and organized
💞 Help ensure we have plenty of food ready for families in need

This is a great opportunity for someone who loves animals, enjoys hands-on work, and wants to make a real difference for pets and the people who love them. ❤️🧡🩵

Guggi
7.5 year old female, domestic medium hair

Guggi is a sweet, sensitive girl who is learning just how wonderful life can be. Since coming to MHS, she has made wonderful progress, settling in and getting comfortable with the new environment and lovely new people. Guggi is affectionate and sweet, showing off her wonderful attributes to those who stop to say hello.

Guggi will thrive as the only pet in a calm, adult-only home where she can have plenty of time, patience, and predictability. With time to settle in, Guggi will be a loving and devoted companion. Guggi deserves the chance to discover her best self, and we believe her brightest days are still ahead. If she sounds like your perfect girl, come meet her during our open hours, Thursday-Sunday from 11-3. August 31, 2026

Happy Tails: Boomer 🐾

Boomer, nicknamed “Boom-Boom”, is doing wonderfully in his new home!

He’s settled in quickly, loves running through the magnetic back door to the yard, and loves his people. He’s friendly with everyone, including other dogs, and recently spent a week with his adopter’s daughter and her two dogs, where they all got along beautifully! 🐶

He’s eating and sleeping well, has found his bark, and clearly feels right at home. 💕

We are so happy for you Boom-Boom!❤️🧡🩵

Support a local author and the animals of MHS! 📚🐾

Join local author, and friend of MHS, Brinda Charry, for a special book event this Saturday, August 29th at 11:00 a.m. at Cohen Hall in the Keene Public Library.

Her new book, Hocus Pocus, will be available for purchase from Toadstool Bookstore, and $10 from every book sold at the event will be donated to MHS!
