Django
Male | Siberian Husky Mix | 5 Years 9 Months Old | Black

Meet Django! This kiddo has pep in his step and loves to go on walkies with MHS staff and volunteers. You might occasionally see him chilling behind the front desk with us!

Django loves the people he knows, leaning in for b***y scritches and ear rubs. He's a picky eater but loves cheese and durable chews!

If you have another dog, we'd recommend talking to staff about having your dog meet Django.

Django would likely do best with children 12 and up! . Django has never lived with cats, but we think he could with appropriate introductions!

This guy can't wait to inexplicably take up half of your bed, despite only weighing 50 pounds. Come and meet him during our open hours, Thursday-Sunday from 11-3! June 23, 2025

We’re excited to share an update from the forever home of four lucky finches adopted from MHS! ✨

Now named Kitty (as in Hello Kitty), Dunkin, Glinda, and Heart, these cheerful little songbirds are thriving in their new home. 🎵

Their family shares that they have settled in beautifully and are even unfazed by their energetic pup, who leaves them to their chirpy business. 🐶🐦

Thank you to this wonderful family for giving these birds the happy ending they deserve! 💗

🐾 Happy Tail: Sylvie (formerly Abby) 🐾

We’re so happy to share a sweet update on Sylvie! 💕

Her new family tells us that Sylvie settled in the very first day—like she knew she was finally home. She’s adjusting wonderfully and wasted no time wrapping her humans around her little paw. Sylvie has become a true cuddle bug, always close by and purring nonstop. 🥹🐱

Since being adopted in February, she’s also grown a beautiful, long, fluffy coat—a transformation her family believes reflects how much more relaxed and happy she is now.✨

Stories like Sylvie’s remind us why we do what we do—every animal deserves a loving place to land, and we’re so grateful she found hers. ❤🩵🧡

We need you! We are currently looking for compassionate, reliable volunteers to join our team and support the daily care of the animals who depend on us.

We’re especially in need of:

🐾 Dog Walkers (must be 18+) – help our dogs get the exercise, enrichment, and love they need
🐱 Cat & Small Animal Volunteers – early risers needed for 8am shifts to care for our feline and small furry friends
🧺 Laundry & Dishes Volunteers – keep our shelter running smoothly behind the scenes
📅 Weekend Volunteers – support our animals and staff when they need it most

🐾 Mission Complete! 🐾

The Woodland Wanders AKC Fit Dog Club, aka the Agents of C.H.A.O.S. (Canine Havoc And Other Shenanigans), just wrapped up a special mission: help five incredible shelter dog Agents earn their AKC Spring Scurry 5K medals by walking or running 3.1 miles between March 1 and June 1.

Meet our medalists: Agents Woodrow, Frank, Loki, Django, and Biscuits
🏅 Each earned an official AKC Spring Scurry 5K medal to take home and points towards their Fit Dog title.

About the AKC Fit Dog Program:
The American Kennel Club’s Fit Dog program encourages healthy movement, outdoor adventure, and stronger bonds between dogs and their humans. By joining a recognized club like Woodland Wanders, you and your pup can participate in seasonal challenges, group walks, and community events—all while working toward official AKC fitness titles for the activities you complete and the miles you log together.

All dogs are eligible no matter their breed, mix, or background. No pedigree? No problem!
