PET OF THE WEEK

Chester, 3 year old male, brown and black long hair tabby

Chester is a 3-year-old spirit cat with a heart that’s been guarded, but not closed. He’s deeply untrusting of humans in general and will need a calm, cat-savvy adopter who understands that some cats walk a quieter, more cautious path. Chester isn’t one to seek out affection—or even attention—right away, but with time, patience, and a peaceful environment, he has the potential to open up in his own quiet way.
While he prefers the company of other cats, Chester has shown he can form meaningful bonds with the right kind of person. In his previous home, he developed a special connection with the teenage boy in the household, allowing pets and even seeking out his presence. For the right person—someone patient, respectful of his boundaries, and perhaps with a friendly feline or two—Chester could become a deeply rewarding companion and a sweet reminder that trust, once earned, is a powerful thing. Meet Gemini and Gilbert, two of our charming black cats currently looking for loving homes. Often overlooked simply because of their color, black cats are just as sweet, playful, and full of personality as any other feline—and they deserve the spotlight today and every day! 🐾🖤🐈‍⬛

We’re also taking a moment to celebrate you—our community. On National Non-Profit Day, we are especially grateful for your compassion, generosity, and support. Because of you, we get to stay true to our mission of strengthening the animal-human bond every single day. ❤

A huge thank you to Tempesta’s Restaurant and Troy Powersports for hosting an incredible fundraiser in support of MHS! Together they raised $1,512 for the animals of MHS! 🐾

We’re also deeply grateful to our amazing community for showing up, participating, and helping raise vital funds. Every dollar will go toward giving animals the care, comfort, and second chances they deserve. 🧡🩵❤
