The hardest part about starting a first generation small family farm - and what ends up stopping most people - is the initial development period. Once everything has been created and established it’s easy to coast off of systems that have already been put in place. But it all starts with one generation - the generation who has to create it all from vision alone. And then produce the man power to turn visions into life.

The problem is that a lot of first generation small family farms are being made by only two people, Dad and Mom. Aside from the harsh culture shock and insane learning curve, this vision is being built from the ground up by these two people alone.

We have the vision. But there have been a couple “projects” that have proven to be more than what the two of us can handle. However, this is the year we overcome and make it happen!

If you’re interested in supporting small family farms as reality in our country, coming together in the spirit of community to support first generation start-up farms is a great way to show your support without spending any money.

We’ll be hosting a couple of open project dates in the coming months to get some of our big projects done. Reach out if you’re interested in being a part of our team!

Our nation was built by small communities coming together to support small family farms and it is through community support of small family farms that our nation will rise again.🌱🇺🇸✨

What if you could walk right outside your door and access an abundance of natural remedies and healing supplies?

That is exactly what ‘Wild Wisdom Herbal Apprenticeship’ is all about.

This hands-on program focuses on the plants that commonly grow wild in our backyards and that can be used in practical ways to promote healing and support overall health.

By the end of this 6-month course, you will have the knowledge of over 30+ herbs, and how to apply them in everyday life.

Together we will learn:

🌿Foraging medicinal plants in zone 5b through sustainable methods
🌿Safe preservation techniques
🌿Creating unique herbal tea blends, customized to your needs
🌿Making medicinal-grade tinctures
🌿Making oils, balms, and salves for natural skincare

April in New England is a wild card. We never know what we’re gonna get. Today we woke up to more snow, which means more hay for the sheep - who were able to graze on grass only yesterday. And more time to wait to get things growing in the garden.

We always get so excited to welcome spring, only to be reminded that she goes out like a lion up here in the North. Soon enough, though… soon enough.⛅️❄️

I’m so excited to share that our upcoming “Backyard Herbal Tea Foraging” workshop was featured in our local paper!

This event means so much to us because sharing the knowledge of healing plants that are accessible and available to us for free, right in our own backyards, is such an important skill to have. Seeing it recognized by our local community is incredibly special.
