Meet Playa! She was hospitalized with us for acute hemorrhagic diarrhea syndrome (AHDS) or previously known as hemorrhagic gastroenteritis (HGE).

Mom says: “She’s so full of life and love and I forever will be grateful to everyone that cared for her, treating her like their own, & taking the time to answer every question, no matter the time of night. I owe you my world because you saved her! Enjoy her smile, never a day do I take it for granted.”

And just look at that smile!!

Help us in congratulating Jasmine! She graduated from Cape Fear Community College's Veterinary Medical Technology Program today! She is also continuing to pursue her Bachelor's at App State!
We are so proud of you and we're glad to have you on the team!
She took a very important oath today and joins all other technicians in furthering advancements in the veterinary medical field.
"I solemnly dedicate myself to aiding animals and society by providing excellent care and services for animals, by alleviating animal suffering, and by promoting public health. I accept my obligations to practice my profession conscientiously and with sensitivity, adhering to the profession's code of Ethics, and furthering my knowledge and competence through a commitment to lifelong learning."

**UPDATE** Our overnight doctor is out again so we will be closed for intake tonight 7/29 and will reopen tomorrow at 7am.

Our overnight doctor has a personal emergency and cannot be in tonight. We will be closed overnight tonight for intake and will open again tomorrow (7/29) at 7am.

And last but certainly not least we'd like to thank our wonderful relief veterinarians that help keep us open as much as possible! We have Dr. Willis, Dr. Moye, Dr. White, Dr. Dunnigan, Dr. Nowlan, Dr. Swanson! They are all an amazing saving grace for us and we are thankful for every single hour they dedicate to us and our patients! THANK YOU 💙

From Dr. Tonkin's Corner: Dr. Tyler is incredibly intelligent! She is good at diagnosing the "zebra" cases and her brain always comes in to save the day if the other vets are stumped. She is conscientious and meticulous in her work and always reliable.

What an amazing doctor to call part of our team!! Unmatched intellect always here to save the day. Thank you for all you do!

From Dr. Tonkin's Corner: Dr. Williams always goes above and beyond for clients, patients and the staff. Our staff and clientele always appreciate her kindness and willingness to help. She is calm, collected and clear headed with excellent attention to detail. She also has excellent, advanced surgical skills.

What would we do without you?! You are an amazing staple of this team and we are honored to have you!

First up is Dr. Tonkin, our fearless Medical Director.
She's too wonderful to put into words but I'll try:
We doubt that you'd find a more driven individual than Dr. Tonkin. There is rarely ever a case she can't figure out or won't jump in to learn from, especially a surgical case. Her compassion also spills into every aspect of her work and it's adorable to see her interact with patients. She will always be an ear to listen or a shoulder to cry on. I could go on and on, but I think you all get the idea...She's the best MD!
Give it up for Dr. Tonkin!! THANK YOU for all you do for the hospital, the staff and the patients!

Today is Veterinarian Appreciation Day!! We couldn't do this without our AMAZING staff veterinarians and relief veterinarians! Obviously we are a little biased, but we really do believe the teamwork, camaraderie, compassion, and expertise between all of our vets is unmatched!
