The licensure for the rattlesnake vaccine has been renewed by the USDA and we have the vaccine back in stock! Please keep in mind that even vaccinated dogs still need anti-venom treatment if they get bitten.

Rattlesnake vaccine update: the rattlesnake vaccine for dogs (manufactured by Red Rock Biologics) is currently UNAVAILABLE with an unknown return date. The manufacturer's limited market licensing with the USDA has expired. We still have anti-venom treatment available if your dog gets bitten (which is recommended for dogs that have previously had the rattlesnake vaccine).

Amador County Animal Control and Adoption Center picked up this sweet young Doberman as a stray with a chronic, severely broken femur. Amputation of the leg was her only option for a pain-free life. Thanks to donations to the shelter's Rusty Fund, she was able to have her surgery this week!

Thank you Le Nguyen Dvm and A-PAL Humane Society for fixing Gus! Gus was found as a stray with both rear legs injured - dislocated right hip and dislocated left hock, requiring surgery on both legs. Wishing you a speedy recovery Gus!!
