Have been working on the blue longhairs for a little over a year and 2-3 generations deep now, originally starting with European blue texels crossed to my lines.
Had a surprise singleton pop out last week of a different color. It seems the European animals carry the gene for slate. Too soon to tell if the pup pictured is just slate or if he is a combination of blue and slate. 2nd photo is him pictured with a blue silkie for color comparison.
Might end up being a surprise with some complications but worth working on. Might just be a possible future for another color variety of longhairs here in the United States. Time will tell.
