Qualities of Top Notch Dog Sitter
1.) Loves dogs:
It’s easy to recognize a pet lover because their entire demeanor lights up when they’re around animals.
Although not necessarily proper etiquette, sitter may automatically greet your pet before greeting you.
2.) Bond/connection: Your dog’s drawn to sitter.. sitter has positive chemistry with your dog. The feelings are mutual.
3.) Flexibility: Sitter aims to accommodate your schedule for Meet and Greets as well as start and end times that are sometimes early morning or late at night. Sitter accepts short notice bookings whenever possible.
4.) Clear rates and payment schedule including any deposit amount and cancellation policy. (Cancellation fee is typically 50%.)
5.) Sitters home is appropriately set up as home away from home for your dog(s) with enclosed yard etc.

6.) Communication:
Sitter sends photos, video clips, &/or daily text notifications to keep your heart at ease.
Reliably a text or call away with prompt response times.
7.) Respects your wishes:
Sitter follows your care plan instructions.
Examples: feeds twice daily per instructions rather than just leaving big bowl full of food out all day. Accompanies dog outside vs allowing them out unattended.
8.) Has Emergency Care Plan in Place: Keeps your instructions available so pet sitter will know who to call, where to go, how to respond and how to keep you informed. Examples: Sitter has Veterinarians contact information and Vet has been given sitter’s information as well; if dog is a runner, knows your best methods for recovery; if pet has chronic condition, sitter knows what to do per your instructions.
They know pet sitting is more than just showing up and feeding your pet.
9.) Experienced:
Sitter has glowing reviews.
10.) Honest:
A truly top-notch pet sitter will be honest if they do not feel a connection with your pet or don’t think they’re a good fit for any reason.
Part of the joy of being a pet sitter is spending time with pets they love.
11.) Insured
Responsibly has Pet Sitter insurance in the unlikely event of accidental mishap.
12.) Meet and Greets are scheduled for 1st timers.
