A few days ago I got an email from someone inquiring about puppies. On average we get about 10 of those per day. As always I sent him the specifics like price and wait times. I followed up with an email a couple of days later to see if he had questions. He replied and said they were trying to figure out why our puppies were a thousand dollars more than anyone else's. I replied to let him know that he hadn't done his homework and nobody would ever force him to buy a dog from us. If all you want is a yard sale price on a dog Wolfsbane K9 is not for you. If we had trouble selling puppies we wouldn't have a 2 year wait. We truly appreciate the people who know that quality costs money but you get what you pay for. The little one pictured is 10 weeks old and headed to his forever home in NY on Saturday.

I have seen more videos telling people not to get a Belgian Malinois than I can count. Most are one sided such as a GSD kennel promoting their breed as if all others are inferior. If you are considering getting a Belgian Malinois think before you do and get real information. Once you have that information ask yourself if this is the breed you need.

Have you tried the Chameleon training collars? We have not because the price is astronomical but tell us your experience. We should note that this question is not the opening for a rant and rave comparison between this and other collars. If you have tried it and like it tell us why we should pay $1200 plus for an eCollar.

One of these is Hunter and the other is Rocket. At only 2 days in, their journey together is just starting and we hope it is long and life changing. It is hard not to have a life changing experience when you own your first Malinois. Without question the best dog breed in the world.

Nutrition is a big deal with animals in general but for working dogs it is a lifelong requirement. Everyone has their favorite food for their dogs and that is fine. We use Purina Pro Plan Sport, Inukshuk and Rayne. Different dogs get different food depending on their needs at that time. We don't change the amount of food as much as we do the diet. Some need more protein while others may need more calories. Table scraps? NO! When you hand those out you have no control over anything. Now, with that said what is the perfect weight? This photo of an adult, Belgian Malinois shows what a properly fed and exercised dog should look like. One of the biggest issues with people keeping their dog at the right weight is the word of the almighty vet. If your dog looks like the one pictured most vets will say it is too skinny. But just because you go to college to treat a wide variety of animals doesn't mean you are an expert on everything. The Malinois is still a breed that is not well known like a German Shepherd or Labrador. Most vets know very little about raising the breed or the nutrition needed. Then some just want you to buy food from them at inflated rates. When it comes to your dog be sure you are the one making the decision about what is wrong or right to put in them. Which food do you use? Do you have a raw formula that works which you can share?
