If a raccoon, squirrel, or bat has found a warm, safe spot in your attic, they’re not just going to pack up and leave on their own. Think about it – it’s quiet, dry, safe from predators, and close to food. Why would they give that up?
The longer they stay, the bigger the problem gets. They can chew through wires (which is a huge fire risk), tear up your insulation, and leave behind droppings and urine that can cause serious contamination.
So if you’re seeing signs of wildlife in your home, don’t wait it out hoping they’ll move along. It’s always easier – and cheaper – to deal with it sooner rather than later.

When we come out for a wildlife problem, we start by getting a full picture. We look for things like footprints, droppings, and chew marks to see what’s been causing trouble. Once we know what animal it is and how it’s getting inside, we come up with the best way to remove it safely and humanely. After that, we seal up every entry point with strong materials so it can’t get back in. We also clean up the mess, sanitize the area, fix any damage, and replace insulation if it’s been ruined. Our goal is to leave your home safe, clean, and critter-free like nothing ever happened. It’s part detective, part contractor, part animal handler, and every day is different.

Here’s a classic example of well-meaning DIY exclusion… that unfortunately won’t work.
Squirrels can chew right through chicken wire. Their teeth are strong enough to gnaw through wood, plastic, aluminum, and definitely thin wire mesh. Chicken wire is designed to keep chickens in, not to keep determined wildlife out.
➡️ Effective exclusion uses heavy-duty galvanized steel mesh installed properly to block re-entry.
If you see a hole like this around your home, it’s worth getting it sealed professionally to avoid damage, contamination, and repeat visitors.

When was the last time you peeked in your attic?
Attics are prime real estate for squirrels, raccoons, and rodents. Most homeowners don’t know there’s an issue until they hear scratching or see insulation damage. Regular checks (or professional inspections) can catch problems early before there’s major damage or contamination to clean up.

Did you know opossums are North America’s only marsupial? They're good critters to have around. Opossums eat large quantities of ticks, slugs, snails, cockroaches, rats, and mice. They are surprisingly resistant to rabies and can help reduce the spread of tick-borne diseases by eating ticks. They may become a nuisance if they nest under your house, shed, deck, or in your trash cans. While opossums can be a nuisance at times, they play a vital role in the ecosystem and can be a valuable ally in keeping your yard and garden pest-free.
