SHADOW, This pittie love is scheduled to die tonight if not rescued/fostered by 5pm. His life will be cut short and he will simply be a statistic in the system. It’s easy to look away, be unaffected and go on with your day. Can you make a difference today?! ‼️ URGENT: Shadow must be adopted or rescued by 5 PM on 9/5/25 or he will be Euthanized‼️
Shadow is a 4-year-old pit bull who had a very rough start to life, with reports of abuse and neglect before arriving at the shelter. Despite this, he has shown his capacity for joy and connection. He loves toys of all shapes and sizes and will play fetch for as long as his person is willing to throw the ball, then flop into the kiddie pool for a well-earned soak. He’s happy to hang out in the play yard with other dogs, but wonders why somebody put all the balls away, because they’re way more fun to play with. Shadow currently has a medical issue with his left eye that’s a mystery, but it doesn’t appear to cause him any pain or slow him down one bit.

Shadow was placed on the euthanasia list for showing signs of kennel stress and requiring sedation for the medical staff to treat him. Shadow would benefit from a home with a little space for him to chase balls, and guardians who can help him learn to accept veterinary care using fear-free methods. Because Shadow loves his toys so much and might not want to share, he’s not recommended for a home with young children. Shadow is about 50 pounds, the perfect size for a spot on a comfy couch.

Come check out the big dog playgroup adoption event! Fantastic way to see the dogs interacting and having fun instead of stressed out in their kennels!

PAWS, it’s weekend Community! Our next Large Dog Playgroup Adoption Event is this Saturday, April 19, 2025, from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at our shelter.

If you have been thinking about a dog, this is a great opportunity to see our shelter dogs outside of their kennel and in their more relaxed state, having fun with each other. This event is a useful tool in showcasing a dog’s temperament, energy level, and playstyle.

So, stop by our shelter this Saturday and see if one of our playgroup dogs is your new best friend!
