Endings are almost alwys sad. Sitting with the heartbreak of the loss of a friendship, a dream, a loved one or the version of you that you have now outgrown is not easy.

The hollow empty feeling craving to be filled by something that will ease that ache, demanding escape in whatever form is offered.

It is not the stage of healing people like to talk about because it is painful, messy and hard, especially when it feels like a repeating cycle you can't break out of.

What I am learning is that sitting with that pain, grieving the loss fully, staying present and noticing each somatic feeling in my body is allowing me to stop repeating the lesson.

Staying with each feeling and emotion, allowing it to pass through either by noticing, crying, movement or writing is allowing me to set the loss down so I don't have to carry it forward on my next adventure.

For anyone else sitting with the sadness of growth, know you are not alone. There is sunshine on the other side of the storm. Keep doing the work. It is worth it.
