STOLEN FROM ANOTHER BREEDER
🚨Of late, there has been so much of the “adopt don’t shop” people circulating around the internet because a couple of famous 📸 people added a puppy to their homes. And while we don’t actually know anything about the br3eders they worked with, people have been coming for them with their torches🔥and pitchforks.
And honestly, we’ve heard similar things here too in the past. 😐
Some examples:
•“My family won’t understand why I chose to get a puppy [who is well-bred, desensitized, and evaluated] from a br3eder instead of ‘rescuing’.”
•”I’m just going to tell my friends and family that we rescued this puppy from a shelter.”
•”I’m sure you just dump off your dogs when they are of no more ‘use’ to you. Or they end up at the pound.”
•”Adopt, don’t shop! You’re contributing to the problem!”
▪️But here’s the thing. How many br3eders (we’re talking real br3eders here) have you known that have dumped dogs off at the shelter? What about their past br3eding dogs? We see posts📱from responsible br3eders looking for a family with a heart ♥️ to whom they can surrender a piece of theirs. And it’s NOT easy. It hurts. Every. Single. Time. Because of how loved their dogs are. The puppies produced by ETHICAL br3eders, go on to live their lives loved beyond measure. And on the off chance that something should change in that family’s life, what ethical, responsible br3eder wouldn’t take back a baby they produced, no matter the age or circumstance?!
🛑Let’s stop blaming those who are producing quality, health tested, temperament-evaluated, properly desensitized, breed-correct dogs and place the blame where it ACTUALLY belongs. The fault lies with IRRESPONSIBLE humans who have dogs that are left in tact (not spayed or neutered) without purpose or intention. Some people leave their 🐶 in tact for health reasons based upon research they found to be compelling. Awesome! Advocate for your fur baby just like you would a human baby. But those people are the exception, not the rule. Irresponsible pet owners that leave their pets in tact just because it’s “expensive to spay or neuter” or because it’s inconvenient to go through that process…or the “I left them in tact because might want to breed them.”
Trust us, you don’t. Not unless you’re ready for potential heartbreak, late nights, no sleep, round-the-clock puppy care, deworming protocols, expensive whelping pens and other whelping supplies, proper vetting costs, health testing costs, and so many things you’d be utterly unprepared for.
❣️Moral of the story? Logic and comprehension could not possibly dream of saying that ethical br3eders are the problem. We love our pups beyond measure, put them first, and send them to their homes with a piece of our hearts. Give the blame to those who actually deserve it, boycott puppy stores and backyard br3eders, and never feel guilty for your INTENTIONAL purchase of a well bred dog.
