A basket full of silkies and seramas just went into the brooder box.

Today we burned off some pumpkin pie by splitting firewood in preparation for winter. We minimize using the furnace and instead utilize the wood stove during winter. The ducks and chickens greatly enjoyed the bugs that emerged from the wood once we split it.

We have been having some predators take away the free range birds so I had my husband build a chicken tractor for the newest egg layers.

The animals are running very low on pumpkins. If anyone has any available to donate we would really appreciate them.

The goats were given straw bedding, the outside rabbits received extra hay and the tortoise is in the house until this cold weather passes.
