Mission Statement:
Lake Area Partnerships for Animal Welfare (LAPAW) Rescue and TNR specializes in the rescue and placement of abused, unwanted, and abandoned companion animals. LAPAW does not discriminate on the basis of health, age, breed, demeanor, background or otherwise. LAPAW strives to educate the community, ensure public awareness, and gain local political partners to mitigate the number of homeless and uncared for animals in southwest Louisiana. All animals within the care of LAPAW are examined, vaccinated, altered (spayed or neutered), and treated (if need be) under the advisement of professional veterinary expertise prior to foster or adoption which entails careful and thorough screening. Feral cats who are not socialized and therefore not within the household pet category are altered prior to their return to safe outdoor environments.

LAPAW RESCUES newest mom..she and a few others were just dumped. She made her way to my sweet neighbors and had babies behind washer/dryer. Soooo we were able to get her before they got too old and wandered off...

UPDATE: REUNITED!! Fiona is home safe & sound after 28 days, 11 hours :)

"Thank you to the amazing couple who found her in their yard and saved her life. I was contacted immediately and told she was in another town (moss bluff) and she had her collar stuck around her neck and armpit, they said she needed to be seen by a vet right away. The vet said she was in better condition than they would expect for being missing since Christmas eve! We are so thankful she’s alive and home with us again. She was so thrilled to see our dog again, they were jumping and loving on each other for at least a whole week. "
