We’ve been busy and I’m so sorry we can’t post pictures without approval now and I understand and respect it. We will be doing our 4th of July party on July 2nd Holly Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. If you would like to join us or if you would like to donate festive items or monetary please let us know. We have High Hope on the 18th and Stonebridge again on the 16th. As I’ve said a million times, we couldn’t do what we do without all the support from all or friends and family across the state, all our amazing sponsors and beyond !!! ❤️🐾❤️🐾 Astro and Jared.

P.S. Astro will be semi retired by the end of the year if not sooner!!! We will of course do our big events if he’s able (Christmas, Mardi Gras, Valentines, Easter and Halloween). Unfortunately though it’s about time to start slowing him down, his hips are getting worse, so keep our sweet boy in your prayers… 😢💔

Its a little long but felt i needed to let you all know our current situation:

I know I haven’t been posting near as much as I used to on all 3 of my pages. I’ve been absolutely slammed with work, graduation and senior year baseball so I have slacked majorly. So to those I may have missed a comment or something i apologize. The young man aka Gentle Giant of a son A.J. graduated had Mr SHS, Homecoming King and so much more l His baseball team made it to the third round of the playoffs his senior year of High School baseball (which we won’t talk about that game). So very proud of the young man he has become and this new journey he’s started! It went by entirety to fast, so don’t blink (no pun intended Kenny)

Anyways between all that and taking new marketing classes, doing my certifications, continuing education for insurance license, and so much more. I have slacked on my buisness page SWLA Insurance Group and Astro Hewitt Pet Services/Volunteering.

I apologize for not updating it like i should have, we have still been going to 4 facilities a month and then some!!! However with PHI, etc laws and some facilities changes we can no longer take photos at some and others have to approve or take pics themselves With that being said we don’t receive many photos and i understand some family members and clients dont want to be blasted on the Internet looking the way they may and wanting to maybe remember them a certain way. Photos or no photos. We will continue to do what we do and when allowed we will post photos.

However, I realized last night that he is closer to retirement that I thought or ever could imagine. So he is about to slow down tremendously and semi retire this summer. His hips can’t keep up and we are almost 7 yrs old. Time for him to be a home dog to finish his journey not working and we won’t talk about that either.

All the above has taken away from my marketing on my SWLA Insurance page and that is my 2nd passion outside of Astro’s Warmth Project. I love my clients, my job, making a difference and making sure my clients know that I have their best interests at HEART and I always wil!!!! That being said there are some major changes coming across the board so during some of these transitions with astro and marketing, etc with my insurance page please know I’m fighting to slow down some myself and shift focus.

Sorry for the long post I figured I owed that to all my family, friends, clients, supporters and so many more an apology and to let you know we are so excited about the opportunities and positive changes coming. Also please just keep our beloved Astro in your prayers. Those hips are just giving out faster than expected unfortunately and there isn’t anything we can do about it except keepp him comfortable moving forward and find another dog for me asap and getting the next therapy dog trained up even faster!!!

Thanks for taking the time to read it if you did and thank you for understanding that life has been chaotic to say the very least.

We went and did our visit at The Care Center of DeQuincy. We recently added them to our monthly rotation and they absolutely love The Stro!!!

It has been a very busy Mardi Gras season and we aren’t done yet!!! This past week we went to Place, High Hope Care Center & Rehabilitation and Holly Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. We even got to stop in at Hilltop Nursing and rehabilitation in Pineville to brighten up the day for their residents. On Monday we will be going to center of dequincy for our first visit and we will be joined by some of the Dequnicy High School band and student council. Remember if you’d like to join us we would love to have you Monday in Dequincy, we should arrive there about 12:30.

Huge shout out to Maplewood Middle School, Stefani Gabriel Guidry, the band and beta club for their 3rd year in a row for making our event at Holly Hill so spectacular for their residents. To our community for always going above and beyond to make sure that we continue to put as many smiles on faces as possible, through our program and therapy with Astro. To the Krewe’s and Krewe members who take time out of their day to join us and celebrate. Our sponosors for these events were Jennifer Mabou-State Farm, Mitch Bowers Physical Therapy, The Boudreaux Family, The Hewitt Family, Nancy Antrim, Khoury’s Clothing, Waynes & Goodwill in Sulphur!!! I hope I haven’t left anybody out, please forgive me if I have. We couldn’t do it without the support from our amazing community, family and friends. Let’s not forget Kristin Gray for all she does Don’t want to know what it would be like without her. She has been a God send to our Team!!!!
