I’m a 20-something married christian, born and raised in Sullivan, MO. I started Medlin Pet Company with my husband Cole Medlin. Since I was little, I’ve always loved having pets and being around other people’s pets! But, sometimes pets are misbehaved, in need of a bath, or maybe just need some playtime with other dogs. Did you know a wagging tail doesn’t always mean a dog is happy? 🐶

Dogs use their tails as part of their body language, and different types of wags can mean different things. A loose, full-body wag often signals excitement and friendliness, while a high, stiff wag may indicate alertness or uncertainty. A low tail wag can even be a sign that a dog is feeling nervous.

That’s why dog behavior experts look at the whole dog—their ears, eyes, posture, and tail—to understand how they’re feeling.

Dogs have up to 300 million scent receptors in their noses, compared to about 6 million in humans. That’s why your pup can spend several minutes sniffing the same spot—it’s their version of scrolling through social media and catching up on all the local news! 📰🐾

Sniffing isn’t just fun, either. It’s an important form of mental enrichment that helps dogs learn about their environment, exercise their brains, and stay engaged with the world around them.
