Mak stands well to mount from the ground or a mounting block and moves off quietly. He is started in dressage, with a good solid walk-trot-canter on either lead. He is currently working on leg yields and shoulder-in. Mak jogs nice and slow, but he will also show off an impressive Friesian trot when pushed. He rides English, Western, ba****ck, or double, on a loose rein or on the bit and collects up nicely. He is mostly worked in a snaffle, but he also does well in a curb bit. Mak has been bounced over low jumps and shows lots of potential.
Mak has the best barn manners, he'll stand to be brushed, bathed, and played with. He loads and hauls well and gets along with other horses. The children love leading him around and he absolutely does not mind all their antics around him.
On trails Mak is calm and surefooted, he's been on a trail ride with over 100 other horses, while being ridden by a completely new rider. He has also joined our family on our 4 day campouts at Salt Fork State Park, as well as took part in youth camps. He stood well tied at the highline overnight, and handles new things with a very calm willing attitude. Creeks and lakes are no issue, and he doesn't freak out about unruly colts around him.
He is good on the obstacle course, and doesn't mind tarps, noodles, the pedestal, or the bridge.
