Training wins aren’t just the trainer’s—they’re the owner’s. A dog’s “bad” behavior is often tied to the patterns, routines, and signals in their home. If we don’t change how we live and how we communicate, the dog will slip back into old habits because those habits have value in their world.

Owning a dog isn’t about convenience. It’s a commitment to change: your daily routines, your responses, and the environment you create. When we adapt our behavior—clear expectations, consistent cues, and calm leadership—we give dogs the clarity they need to feel safe, learn, and thrive.

Remember: your home has emotional and practical meaning for your dog. Adjusting that environment supports their physical and mental health. The real success story is when owners transform their lives to match their dog’s needs. That’s where lasting change happens.

Want help building routines that actually stick? I can help you create simple, realistic steps to change habits and communicate more effectively with your dog.

I met the owners of Levvy the lab at a shelter. Mom was looking for a athletic dog for her daughter to jog with. Problem? Brody had come from a animal abuse case so he was cautious of new dogs and Levvy the lab had a traumatic event when younger so she was anxious of dogs next to her. I asked the mom, knowing they where going on vacation if I could stay with both dogs. They agreed! I played, jogged with both and worked with both dogs in those 2 weeks. When the dogs went home they weren't perfect but 10 times better then day 1. Knowledge was given the owners. Shout out to the owner for putting in the work. Almost a year later Levvy the Lab has been the big sister to young Brody. Brody was one of the dogs that inspired to created the go fund me for Project Ellie.

Play is crucial for A LOT of things, rather it's to fulfill genetic, exercise, bonding, training. We feel that without it everything else is a bit impossible or minimum, an up hill battle. It's not only beneficial for the dog but also rewarding for the owner to be able to interact with their dogs. Yet some uneducated people will tell you not to play or sometime not to play with your dog with specific toys. But wait some will say my dog doesn't play. I say, nonsense. Your dog just doesn't know how to play in general or at least doesnt know how to play with the owners (which is sad to me). So one thing we do is teach both dog and owner how to play and enjoy each other's presence. End result is fulfillment on both ends🤭

Stop taking advice from non dog trainers. People's lack of knowledge on how to properly do something will get a person hurt and or get the dog killed. Example: tug a war is one of the best game for some dogs like bull breed, catch dogs. Why? Because when done correctly you teach the dog how to regulate their emotions under arousal, how to let go under arousal and much more. Don't say tug a war is bad say im uneducated on how to properly train, play with my dog. I said what i said.
