Last weekend Senka and I had a blast participating in the 2025 JACUSA Nihon Ken Heritage Show!

Even though she is now retired and spayed, we are still having fun with her and it's always a privilege to enter the show ring with my best girl ❤️. And we even left with some nice wins under our belt 😁.

Update on our future breeding plans:

We are planning a litter between Kupala (Asatsuyu Go Odate Sannomarusou) and Vukša (Ryuhei Go Odate Sannomarusou) for this Fall (puppies would be ready to go home early 2026). In her last litter, Kupala produced beautiful puppies with excellent, outgoing, and people friendly temperaments. As Vukša is even more excited about meeting people than Gokkai is, we are anticipating similar temperaments with beautiful expression and type. All colors (red, brindle, and white) are possible with this pairing. No long coats.

Kupala was imported from an excellent quality line in Japan. Her sire (Awa Daitei Go Jr. Matsunaga) won the prestigious Meiyosho at an AKIHO show in Japan and her brother went on to win Tokuyuu. She herself has done well in AKC and UKC earning her UKC championship and 3/5 legs towards her UKC Grand Championship. She has half the points needed to secure her AKC Certificate of Merit. She also has titles in UKC Nosework and NASDA.

While her lovely type has helped her do well in conformation, it is her temperament that makes her truly shine. She is one of our two most people-oriented dogs and has never met a stranger. From the second she arrived in the United States, she has been a fabulous breed ambassador. She is also extremely easy to handle (nail trims, baths, etc) and calm and relaxed for vet care. She has a sweet but mischievous nature and is far smarter than she has a right to be. She knows how to open doors and opens the drawer with her leashes whenever she feels like going for a walk.

Vukša was also imported from Japan from an excellent quality line. His sire took top placement in Sohken class before he was exported to Czech Republic and his dam is out of a famous Meiyosho winner. Vukša’s height being just under the minimum for male keeps us from being able to show him in AKC and UKC but he did place in the honor selection (top 4) of the Sohken class males with excellent remarks for his beautiful type and coat from Judge Mr. Kazuo Kimoto.

Like Kupala, where he shines brightest for us is his excellent temperament. He was confident, exuberant, and loved everyone from the moment he arrived in the USA. He is the other of our 2 most people-oriented dogs and serves as a wonderful breed ambassador. He is my cuddliest boy and prefers to lay next to me wherever I am, computer chair, couch, etc. and really seems to enjoy hugs and affection.

The last few weeks have been busy but we have been out and about socializing with Cantiga. He is now playing well with all 3 of our girls and has done so well out in public. Yesterday him and Senka went out to the pet store together and today was bath and playtime. He reminds me so much of his sire Gokkai with his temperament and looks 🥰

Hello everyone!

As some of you no doubt have seen, Cantiga (one of our Gokkai x Kupala sons) was returned to us through absolutely no fault of his own. We have spent a few weeks with him socializing and evaluating him before we were comfortable with rehoming him.

Cantiga is a very silly fun dog. He loves to play fetch and loves to bring the toy back to you and plant his head on the ground and roll over while you give him pets and love. He is very treat motivated and already knows some basic commands (sit, down). He is already house broken and just needs to be shown the routine and where he should potty.

He went on several outdoor adventures with us and showed that he still loves people and travelling out and about with his family.
He would make an excellent friend for someone looking for a fun and people friendly boy.

We are looking for a co-own home only. All this means is that the future owner agrees to keep him intact for possible future breeding. There is no requirement to show.
