It has been brought to my attention that a former groomer in town is reaching out to their old clients asking them to come back for the summer....

With that being said, if you are one of my newer clients that is on a regular schedule with me:
1) I CANNOT and WILL NOT save your spot!!!
2) I have to many people needing on a full time schedule to save your spot while you Groomer Hop.
3) The dogs get out of the grooming routine I do with them and all trust is lost.
4) It is to stressful on the dogs to switch groomers

Last week's adorable crew. And a few from yesterday and this morning. We've been having a blast playing and letting the dogs run around the shop between appointments. They definitely keep us laughing with their silly personalities.
I'm trying to do a better job of taking after pics. Sometimes I forget 🤦‍♀️

PSA:
We've had a few severely matted dogs come in lately, which is totally fine. However, I need you to be completely honest about how matted your dog is when I ask if your dog is matted. I ask not because I'm judging you, Im asking due to that fact that it takes longer. I have to go slower with the clippers and use shorter blades. It takes longer to groom a severely matted dog. They cower down and shrink into themselves, they try and bite us, and are terrified because the mats hurt, mats pull their skin tight. Mats leave sores and bruises underneath them. I can cut your dog with the clipper blades due to the mats being so bad.
So please be honest when I ask about matting. It's for the safety of your dog. So I can prepare and have enough time scheduled without other dogs coming in making the matted dog more nervous. So I can have my bather available to help hold the dog or just stand there and talk to the dog if necessary. We try everything we can to make your dog feel safe and comfortable so we can shave them down safely.

Charmie, Zoey, Dottie Dew, Sunday, Duke, Oreo, Lulu, and Doc & Wrangler.
I looked for Lulu for about 5 minutes before I found her. She had been following me around while I was cleaning, but when the vacuum came out she disappeared 😂
Duke got a bath and de-shed so he could be in his Mom's wedding this past weekend.
Doc wouldn't sit long enough for a Pic. All he wanted was his Mom to hurry up. Him and Wrangler kept an eye out for her.

We have been busy this week with mainly new clients 😃
Thank you to all my new clients for trusting me with your fur babies. I hope you love the way they were groomed! Please don't ever be scared to let me know you dislike the way I did something. We can always go shorter or let something grow out and do different on the next visit.

If your dog acts up on their first visit:
Please don't get discouraged, embarrassed, upset, mad at your dog or not return. They have zero trust with me.
It's just that I'm new and do things differently than the groomer they were used to. It smells different to your dog. It takes time to trust a new person, especially a new groomer. Your dog is only with me around 3hrs one time every 6 weeks. It takes time to adjust and build that trust.
If I tell you we need to stop and you come back the next day or the next week and try again, I'm not giving up on your dog. I'm reading your dogs body language and stress level (stress can lead to a heart attack, stroke, seizure or other medical issues) and what they are trying to say without words. They get overloaded with all the new and act out and it's ok, I understand that and know when they have had enough. I want your dog to learn to trust me and not make them terrified of the grooming process. I want them to enjoy their time and groom here at Hoosier's Dog Wash.
