Wednesday April 1st
Late logs are better than none... Right.. It's late because I had youth group and I completely forgot. It was a chill day I went to the pasture to grab him and took the long way so his feet wouldn't get wet going through the mud. I brought him in and we worked on some poles and from what I heard he didn't touch or knock any of them, I did tho.. we did some in hand trotting and some back up work because he's decided to back and point his but away from me so after we sorted that mess out he realized it's easier to stand still and not move, we called it quits on a good note!

I did work with Beau the 10th and 13th but didn't log, why? Not sure...But it was a good grooming session and lunging/backup work. Then we had snowstorm Elsa and that gave him a week off.
Tuesday, March 24th
Today was a lesson day so I brought Beau in and groomed him. It's spring and he is shedding a lot! And to make it even better he has white hair so it's everywhere... We did some lunging in big circles and he did pretty well. Walked/trotted both directions 2 times. Then after we worked on more flexing, he had a hiccup but in the end not too bad! He p**ped at least 7 different times while trotting so I had to go on a hunt for that and then he got a little cookie to finish it all off!

Thursday March 5th
I was so busy getting my temps I forgot to log... Woopsie. Anyway it was a jumpy day. It was about to rain, kinda raining already, and he was feeling himself. He's a fat boy so I had to loosen the surcingle(granted he was younger and it is winter) he didn't mind. He p**ped his normal 3-4 piles of 5-8 turds each. We worked on backing up straight, right through poles. He also did some lung line trotting, no bucks, no bolts, just farts and p**ps. I also forgot to measure him but I'm guessing between 14.1 and 15.0hh but more so closer to 14.

Tuesday, March 3rd
Did I kinda forget this page existed, kinda. But I'm here now? Beau is growing like a w**d! He's a tiny baby one day and a big old horse the next! I'll have to see how tall he is on Thursday. Today was boring, he was wiggly in the cross ties but relaxed towards the end. It's that time of year when he sheds like crazy, and white horse hair is not for the faint of heart. Trust me, I'm still trying to get it off. After that snowstorm we went to the arena and did some circles and of course he p**ped 3 times!

2 in 1... Woops, both late 🥲
Monday December 22nd
We went to see Beau and I gave him a semi quick groom, he was a bit anxious in the barn but the wind was louder than normal. After that we headed out to the arena and walked around both ways 2 times. After some good stops and back ups we did some lunging and as always he was a bit lazy but after a few changes he was good to go! We put his blanket on and sent him back out to be with his friends!
Thursday January 8th
Beau was very happy because he spent his time in the arena watching his BFF Kota do some big boy work. In good old Beau fashion he decided to walk then p**p a tiny pile, was that all of it no. He walked some more and in the same spot he let out some more. Then when I sent him into a trot be p**ped again pile 3.... Next direction nothing. To the left and again he p**ped... Thankfully for the last time, but luckily Kota and Lauren showed Beau their skills and picked those rouge turds up while mounted which was pretty cool. It's cold and to let off some steam Beau decided to show us his other career path, bronc riding. He did eventually calm down and we ended with some walking to stop to bacing up to moving his shoulders over, that needs improvement but we all start somewhere!

Friday, December 19th
Let's pretend I remembered to log the other times... And that this log wasn't 3 days late... Anywayyyy. I went out to the pasture and Beau came running, almost over me, but he's got that sliding stop thanks to the slush. I brought him inside and dried his legs off before we started brushing. He gets so dark and dappled in the winter, so cute. He was a little anxious but he got through it. We went to the arena and did some lunging to get his wiggles out, nothing exciting. But everything went well so he went back out with his friends!

Saturday, November 16th
I have not been on top of writing about what we do... But when I went out to the pasture Beau was taking a little nap, he was super cute and cuddly! I took him to the cross ties and groomed him. He was dirty, but surprisingly still white, thank goodness! His tail needed some TLC, so that's what it got. His mane is still growing in chunks. After that we headed to the arena to do some circles on the lunge line. He was definitely fat and lazy. He p**ped in the pasture when I was bringing him in. He proceeded to p**p one big pile and 20 million different small turds while trotting. I had to go on an Easter egg hunt for them... Then at the end he got his fall dewormer(he took it like a champ obviously) and then some cookies because I tasted a bit of dewormer and it was BAD. So I felt bad and let him eat some treats to hopefully mask the taste. Then he finished his day off accompanied by Nash at the drinking fountain!

Saturday, October 25th. I went out and worked with Beau, he was super chill. We walked, did some circles, worked on our in-hand trot (needs improvement, lol), went around barrels, and over poles, both at a walk and a trot. He's definitely improving! He still hits the poles but doesn't knock them as much. Lauren and Kota were there, so we messed around with them. Beau is in love with Kota and was very interested in big horse duties!

I promise it has not been 3 months since I've seen Beau 😅 It's been a little hectic with school but it's workable.. Today Beau was looking really pretty and dappled, he got a nice groom and then we went and enjoyed the outdoor arena. Lunged some circles went over bridges, the flies were bad even with the fly spray but he pulled through and we ended on a good note!

Tuesday August 26
I think I've taken advantage of Beau never getting dirty. Somehow every time I groom him there's little to no dirt, and with him having so much white that's a blessing. Sometimes Beau can be a bit funky when going out to the outdoor arena, he'll jump, spook, and keep the lead rope taught. But today he went out like a gentleman, he got his hip around, his head and body relaxed, and the lead rope had some slack! After some walking and weaving through poles, I sent him walking over the troting logs, I think he hit everyone except the last.. But that's ok he's just a 4 year old baby... We're working on it. Did a few trotting circles and he's a bit lazy, but with a little more encouragement he'll pick up the pace. We've also been working on getting him squared and he's picking it up fast!! And as a generous reward I let him eat a few bites of the tall grass by the tire!

Monday, August 11th
The flies were out for us, I sprayed Beau 4 times before they left him alone. Then they got me. I set up a basic cone pattern and 2 poles to back through, he's great at backing up but not straight. We spent some time perfecting our in hand and stopping at a trot. Which is excellent! We spent our cool down chasing Justin pulling a sled which Beau very much enjoyed. It must be the cow horse genes lol.
