๐ŸŒŸ Veterinary Assistant Week Spotlight: Emilie H. ๐ŸŒŸ
Today, weโ€™re celebrating Emilie H., one of the incredible veterinary assistants on our Urgent Care team at Veterinary Specialty Center of Sturbridge! ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿพ
Emilie is a highly skilled and dependable team member who is always willing to lend a hand, jump in where needed, and continue learning new skills to support our patients and team better. Her dedication, positive attitude, and eagerness to grow make her an invaluable part of our hospital.
We are also so proud to support Emilie as she continues her education to become a Certified Veterinary Technician. This exciting step will allow her to take an even greater role in patient care. ๐ŸŽ“๐Ÿพ
When sheโ€™s not at the hospital, Emilie enjoys spending quality time with her husband and their beloved animals, including her horses, cats, and dog. ๐Ÿด๐Ÿฑ๐Ÿถ
Thank you, Emilie, for your hard work, compassion, and commitment to our patients and team. Weโ€™re lucky to have you as part of the VSCS family! ๐Ÿ’ซ

Dr. McCarthy, Dr. Lytle, and Shannon spent the day at Westover Air Force base teaching about first aid, canine fitness and common orthopedic injuries in the working dog!

These dogs operate in physically demanding environments where early recognition of musculoskeletal injuries, soft tissue strain, heat-related illness, and emergency conditions can significantly impact recovery outcomes and operational readiness. By educating handlers on injury prevention, early intervention, safe conditioning practices, and field stabilization techniques, handlers are better equipped to identify subtle changes before minor issues become career-ending injuries. Proper first aid knowledge also strengthens the handler-dog partnership and ensures these highly trained working dogs receive immediate, informed care when it matters most.

As we roll from 2025 into 2026, our hearts are full. ๐Ÿ’›

To every pet and family weโ€™ve supported this year โ€” through Surgery, Rehabilitation and Sports Performance, Urgent Care, and Internal Medicine โ€” thank you for trusting us with your loved ones. The strength of our patients and the dedication of their pet parents inspire us every single day.

We are also deeply grateful for the incredible team that makes our work possible. Our dedicated Doctors, Technicians, Assistants, CCS crew, and administrative staff are the true definition of professionals. Their skill, compassion, and teamwork keep our hospital running like a well-oiled machine, and we are very proud of them.

As we move forward into 2026, we look forward to continuing to provide the high level of specialty care you have come to expect from us โ€” with compassion, collaboration, and commitment at the heart of everything we do.

From our entire VSC family to yoursโ€” thank you for your trust, partnership, and love for your animals. Hereโ€™s to health, healing, resilience, and community in the year ahead. ๐Ÿพโœจ
