Big news! As some of our customers are aware, there is a baby on the way! This is very exciting news, but I know also brings up a lot of questions too. As the only groomer here, that makes things even more difficult planning maternity leave. We do plan on having 2 bathers trained to do nails, bath, dry, ears, brushing, and everything except haircuts that will keep the business open. As we all know as much as you plan for things surprises do happen. The baby is due 12/12/21, we are waiting for the big day to find out if it’s a girl or boy! If everythinggoes as planned, I want to groom until then. I plan on taking 4-6 weeks off for leave. Again, that’s easy to plan IF everything goes as planned, which life rarely does. Some surprises are the baby might show up super early/late or the doctor could put me on bed rest/restrictions. Right now I’m on a 20 lb lifting weight from the doctor, but doing what my body will let me. Some days I move slower than normal, making appointments run longer. I have stopped taking large dogs that are not in often or difficult to do, luckily that wasn’t many. I am currently scheduling up until my due date, but understand that given the unknown appointments might have to be canceled. I will let people know as soon as possible! I am not scheduling for my return until after the baby is born so I know what I’m doing for sure. When I start calling/texting people to schedule after my leave, I will let the customers that had to be canceled (if any) schedule first. I completely understand if you get your dog groomed elsewhere in the meantime! I groom a lot of high maintenance dogs that need groomed every 2 or more weeks to keep in good condition, I don’t expect you to wait too long! I will still not be accepting new customers, so my current customers are priority! Thank you for reading this really long post, and I’m happy to share the news that our family of 4 is going to be a family of 5 soon!
