Well… four hours later and we FINALLY wrapped up the Toad Abode Workshop. 😂🐸🌿

What started as building little toad homes turned into wandering the creek, exploring, playing, laughing, and honestly just enjoying a slow afternoon together.

By the end, our sweet little 4-year-old friend was leaving in tears because she didn’t want to go home and honestly… that probably says more about the day than anything else could. 💜

These are exactly the kinds of childhood memories I hoped these workshops would create.

We are officially all set and ready to make TOAD ABODES! 🐸🌿

The garden is waiting, the supplies are gathered, now we get to spend the morning creating tiny woodland homes for some of nature’s best garden helpers. 💜

I’m so excited for a slow, creative, muddy little morning filled with imagination, dirt, sticks, moss, and happy kiddos.

See y’all at the homestead. 🌿✨

🌿🐥 Morning chick chores + sunshine therapy.

One of the best ways to bond with chicks and help them grow into friendly, social birds is simple: sit with them in the grass and hand feed them. 💜
With workshops coming up, we’re spending extra time making sure our babies are comfortable being handled and interacting with people.

Heck yeah!!

Heck yeah!!

Arkansas basically looked at generations of grandmas, church potlucks, smoked BBQ masters, roadside peach stands, farmers market legends, and people selling “just a few jars” of chow chow from the kitchen and finally said:
“You know what? Let the Arkansans cook.” 🍪🥧🌽💀
The Homemade Food Act becoming law feels like the most Arkansas thing imaginable because this state has been running on homemade recipes long before anybody thought about permits and paperwork. 😭
Somewhere in Arkansas right now there’s: • a grandma rolling biscuits from scratch
• somebody smoking ribs low and slow behind the house
• a church kitchen serving enough food for half the county
• a farmers market table stacked with homemade jams
• and one guy explaining why his BBQ sauce recipe is “classified information” 💀
This law basically confirmed what Arkansans already knew:
The best food in Arkansas does NOT always come from a restaurant.
Sometimes it comes from: • a stained recipe card
• a cast iron skillet older than your truck
• a church fundraiser
• a county fair booth
• a backyard smoker
• or somebody’s aunt measuring ingredients with “that looks about right” and somehow making perfection every single time 😭
Now those homemade traditions can become real small businesses: • pies
• jams
• breads
• smoked meats
• cookies
• pickles
• salsa
• chow chow
• peach cobblers
• kettle corn
• and every secret family recipe that’s been winning compliments since the Clinton administration. 🌽🍞🥧
And honestly?
Arkansas was made for this.
Because down here, homemade food isn’t just food.
It’s family. It’s neighbors. It’s church dinners. It’s county fairs. It’s farmers markets. It’s somebody handing you a full plate and saying:
“Baby, you need seconds.” 😭❤️

It all started with someone gifting him a turkey egg… then our friend who works with him mentioned that we had a turkey laying too and somehow that turned into us now having a designated weekly buyer for our turkey eggs. 🥹🦃🥚

It may seem small to some people, but moments like this feel huge to us. Little by little, God keeps opening doors and reminding us that even small homestead beginnings can grow into something meaningful. We’re so grateful for the support, the connections, and the chance to provide fresh food to our local community. 🤍🌿

🐓 FREE ROOSTERS — Need Rehomed ASAP 🐓

We have 5 young roosters looking for new homes. These boys are from last spring and are Leghorn crosses with Rhode Island Red and Brahma hens. They’ve been free-ranging here on our homestead except for recently and would work well for:

• flock protection
• breeding projects
• homestead meat birds/stew birds
• or anyone needing extra roosters

We’ve processed a few ourselves already, but realistically time is not on our side right now and we just need to downsize and start fresh moving forward. No shame in honest homesteading — just trying to make the best decision for both us and the birds. ❤️

They are FREE to good homes.
Located in Northwest Arkansas / West Fork area.

Please message if interested or wanting more photos. First come, first served.
