Best wishes and luck to my boy Jareth on your new adventure and training! Jareth is a special boy with an amazing temperament, sweet disposition, and handler focused. I was keeping him back as a started shed dog but he had another calling, he will be trained as a mobility support dog. He took a long trip to Illinois and when meeting his person, Linda. He perked right up as soon as he got out of the truck and she stepped out the door. Jareth eagerly greeted her and had the biggest wiggly whirly helicopter-butt tail ever.. he knew he belonged with her at that moment.
I'm gonna miss this sweet boy but I know he'll be helping someone and is in great hands.

Did you know? Dogs must be 24 months or older for OFA Hip and Elbow certification, and 12 months or older for Cardiac, Patellas, and Thyroid certification. There is no age minimum for eye certification, nor for DNA, since DNA does not change as the dog ages.

The OFA also does Preliminary evaluations on hips and elbows before 24 months of age. However, they will need to be re-evaluated again for a final certification once the dog reaches 24 months.

Individual breeds may have different minimum age requirements for their CHIC program, which is determined by their parent club.

Quigley is now Accepting applications, he's up 12bls from when he arrived back with me (If you don't know the story behind him, please message me and I'll give you his story). He lets me know when he has to go to the potty now, Very sweet temperament, alert, good drive if anyone wishes to continue him into gundog or upland, I have also introduced him to sheds and he fetches those up.. I have not tested him in the diving pool yet.
I've had several people asking about him so if you're interested please fill out my questionnaire
Quigley is 1-year-old. His parents are Sunny Of rustic Lodge gundogs and Bren out of my homebred girl. He has a nice drive for birds, decent recall, knows, sit and walks nice on a leash though He will need more in-depth training.
All his littermates have been Very successful in with service dog training, family dogs, gundog and other sporting candidates. He gets along great with other dogs, he is a little rough playing but if you tell him no he's a really good boy and will calm down.

Great turnout with The Buckeye Retriever Club junior dog training day. Quigley was exposed to so many new things which will greatly benefit him. Great socialization and I was able to see what I need to work on with this little man since I got him back...he's also up 12 lbs from the day he was returned to me. He got so many compliments on how much healthier he looks and he behaved so well.
(PS..yes, I know the pinch collar is not placed correctly in the video)

About Us & Our Girls

I have a passion for the Labrador Retriever and their purpose, a sporting gundog and loyal loving companion in the field and in the home. Being an avid duck hunter with my dad when I was little and then moving as I attended college I started looking for the right breed of dog and decided the Labrador was the right choice for me. I have been involved with the Labrador breed for over 20 yrs now and just started my breeding program in 2017. I was looking at getting a cream colored yellow and during my search saw my first fox red shade. I immediately loved the coloring as she would blend in the brush and not stand out and found and brought home my first Labrador puppy, Sandy May born March 17, 2000. She was a mismark but knew nothing of that when I got her and as a few year past by I reasered more about their ancestors & history: she was marked like the St. John's Water Dog. When she was at age of 14 I got another pup, Peanut then after few months later Sandy May’s breast cancer took over and had to make that dreaded decision. After Sandy past I didn't go back out duck hunting for a while and then decided to take and enter Peanut into hunt tests. Since getting Sandy & Peanut and leaning their history, I have become very partial to the darker shades of Yellow and Fox Red for my breeding program. Though I breed for the shade, I do not breed just for that alone, I wish is to help bring back that classic dark shade seen in the early years of the breed while contributing to the Labradors genetic health, excellent temperaments, soundness, athleticness of a gundog, and their loyal companionship. So when you hear about Fox Red Labradors they are not a newer color, they are a shade of yellow and are well documented in the 1800’s, it’s said to be the original shade of yellow called “golden” in that time. Also note the Fox Red does not carry the same genetics as the dilutes (silver) and should not be compared as such. I do not and will not breed dilutes or to dilute lines know as silver, charcoal, or champagne and hope others respect my lines and my decision to breed to Black, Yellow, and Chocolate that are clear of the dilute gene.

My dogs Shed Hunt, compete in Shed Hunt Tests, hunt ducks/geese/pheasant, attend AKC & UKC Hunt Tests, compete in Dock Diving sports, and FastCats. We are members of the Buckeye Retriever Club, North American Diving Dogs Association, & Buckeye DockDogs. My dogs are OFA certified and I offer a 26 month hip & elbow guarantee, clear on EIC, CNM, DM, PRA-HNPK, D locus clear. I also select stud dogs with a natural desirae to retrieve and eagerness to please. Our puppies are raised in my home and starting at day 3-16 I start my puppies with ENS (Early Neurological Stimulation) and follow Puppy Culture to help our puppies off to the right start in life. Peanut & Aries are also part of the UC Davis, Canine Genetic Diversity Study for Labrador Retrievers at BetterBred.com

WSD, SHR, JH, DS, CGC, AKC CGCA, JRSHTR Peanut has a very sweet kind happy temperament. She is calm, has a high drive but very manageable on/off switch from the field to home, eager to please, & focus with good making abilities. She has a great nose for pheasant, antlers and ducks. Peanut earned her WSD 2019 and earned her first Champion class pass at the 2019 UKC ESDS National Championships. She also earned her NASHDA Junior Shed Hunter (JRSHTR) and is working towards her NASHDA Senior Shed Hunter (SRSHTR, 1 more pass for title). Peanut has also qualified to compete the NASHDA World Championships 4 yrs in a row. I started hunt test training when she was a bit older in after we just “winged it” at our first event with AKC. We learned a lot and stuck with it and continued training and earned her AKC JH and HRC SHR, she is currently training for seniors. She also competes in DockJumping, AKC NADD DS (dock Senior) title, distance PB of 20.6' DuelingDogs PB 6.656, reaction time 0.051. Speed Retrieve PB 7.213sec. http://huntinglabpedigree.com/pedigree.asp?id=97471
