I was terrified when I found out I was pregnant that it would change our relationship.

Instead, he showed me his heart was big enough for all of us. I’m so grateful he knew he never had to love anyone but his family.

Lady Mae update🌻

When Lady Mae first came to us, I honestly wasn’t sure we’d ever get here.

I didn’t think she’d ever want to snuggle. I didn’t think she’d choose to be around our family. She was terrified of everything.

She had spent most of her life in a playpen, didn’t understand going outside to potty & trusted almost no one. Even my husband couldn’t walk into a room without her panicking.

Today… she’s a completely different gal

She chooses to be with our family. She waits to go outside to potty , uses potty pads when she can’t make it outside & has learned that people can be kind. Those may seem like little victories.. but for Lady Mae, they’re huge.

She still needs time to trust & that’s okay.

Lady Mae is still listed on Petfinder & technically is available for adoption. She fits our family beautifully, Some dogs are soul dogs.That doesn’t always mean they’re yours forever.
Sometimes it just means they were sent to find you exactly when you needed each other. 💚🧡 So, if the right adopter came along… someone patient, understanding & willing to let her move at her own pace… who has more one on one time to time to give her….we’d absolutely have that conversation within the next year. But we aren’t in a hurry to change her life unless it’s better suited for her life in the future.

BIGGER NEWS 📣We’re also exploring prosthetic legs for her. I’m not convinced a wheelchair is the best fit because she’s still so cautious and terrified of “things… so we’re looking into 3D printed options & may eventually do a fundraiser to help make that happen.

Lady Mae has changed more than her own life.

She’s the reason NubLove Hub finally became a reality. She reminded me why these dogs deserve to be seen for everything they can do…and owners need resources to do what’s best for these beautiful beings!

Thor update. 💚

This little dude is still as spunky as ever.

The other day I was upstairs & all of a sudden… so was he. 😂 His newest obsession is going up AND down the stairs all by himself!

For most dogs that’s no small feat, but for a 2legged Chihuahua… it’s a pretty BIG accomplishment.

Then again… Thor has never been ordinary. ⚒️🦸🏼‍♂️

I finally got around to watching the Thor movies and I have to laugh because his personality couldn’t be more fitting. Brave. Stubborn!! Loyal. Protective. He takes his job of watching over this family (especially Ruby) very seriously. He has always been her guardian, always keeping an eye on her.

If I’m honest… I do worry about how he’ll handle life without her someday. Our home is overflowing with love, and every one of these dogs has a heart that loves just as deeply as we do. Losing someone leaves a space that everyone feels.💞

But today isn’t about that. It’s about celebrating this incredible little. dude.

We also quietly passed a huge milestone in June for Thor… SEVEN years since his amputation. Seven years of proving that losing two legs never meant losing his spirit. If anything, it only made it shine brighter.✨

I wanted to share some joy alongside the harder updates lately. There are still so many reasons to smile around here & Thor reminds us of that every single day. 💚

Ruby has entered her “Bucket List” era. 💞🪣
The era where life is measured in good days.

every decision has become day to day.
Her mammary cancer has unfortunately progressed much more aggressively than we ever hoped after her spay and doggie dementia since losing turbo has also gotten worse.

I don’t know how many adventures we have left.
I don’t know how many more sunsets she’ll wake up feeling like herself. What I do know is that every single one of them matters now.

Tell me the one thing every dog should experience at least once. We’re building a list. 💞🐾
