Show day and auction day were a ton of fun. The heifers have been huge crowd favorites. The judge stated, "I can't find anything structurally wrong with these cattle" That's a huge compliment in the cattle world, and we are super proud of our girls.

We brought a few heifers and goats over to Adams County Fair this week. The girls had a spa day while goats just came up with new ways to eat their stall decor.

Gabby had a wire cut that we started treating a few weeks ago. After rapid initial improvement, she became swollen and non- weight bearing again.

We called the vet out and feared the worst. We decided to give her one more shot at treatment instead of putting her down. She's one of our few non-halter broke cows. We also weren't sure we could get her to walk up to the paddock, so we had to sedate her and treat her in the field.

While cleaning the wound, the vet found wire that was still embedded (first picture). Although horrifying, it explained her symptoms. The vet and tech were able to cut out the wire and clean and bandage her. They even signed her bandage! We have high hopes for a full recovery now.

It was under 100 degrees this weekend, so we got some halter training done.

We were up with the sun to meet the hoof trimmer with some of our mommas in need of a mani/ pedi. Daisy, Dazzle and Sparkle got a trim, a worming and fly treatment at the cow spa!

We were excited to take some cows and goats over to Adams County for Ag Day today. It was even more special because one of the attending schools was were two of our kids did K-8.

Daisy was the standout, professional, ambassador that she always is, and her calf, Dolly, was also well behaved.

We turned cows out on the lower pasture. They were excited! Although, not everyone understands gates. They were a little soaked and muddy from recent rains.
