The grooming professionals across our state are aware of the deeply concerning situation involving the reported abuse and mishandling of a dog at a salon in West Bend, WI.
Like so many within our community, we are heartbroken and disturbed by what has been seen and shared thus far. The safety, humane handling, and emotional wellbeing of pets must always remain the highest priority within our profession.
As an association, we are actively having conversations surrounding professional accountability, ethical handling standards, accountability, and the importance of continued networking and communication within our grooming community to help ensure pets throughout our state receive respectful, compassionate, and skilled care.
We also want the public to know that the business and staff members currently involved are not members of the WAPPS/WPGA association roster.
Our association maintains a zero-tolerance stance regarding animal abuse, neglect, or intentional mishandling of pets in any professional grooming environment.
If you have questions or concerns, please feel free to message this page directly and we will follow up as we are able.
~Remember that each member on our roster embraces and emulates the PPGSA Standards of Care, statewide stylist and groomers should as well.
