We’re recycling an old now that summer is here and it is HOT🥵☀️
Reminder to be cautious of temps for your pup! Keep in mind they have bare paws on walks and not to leave them in the car, even for 5 minutes!
☀️Both left hand side photos are the pavement- one in the shade and one in direct sun
☀️The picture on the right is our van after our patrol with the AC on full blast. The start temp of the van was 117! The temp climbed to 88 after being parked for 5 mins in full shade!
🔥FACT: Heatstroke in dogs can happen in as little as 15 mins!
🔥 Pavement can average 40-60 degrees higher than the air temp. If the air temp is over 80, asphalt can be hot enough to burn paws (and continue to progress signs of heatstroke)
🔥The average mortality rate for heatstroke in dogs is 50% and death usually occurs within 24 hours!!
