Ethical Veterinary

Ethical Veterinary Ethical Veterinary is a NY house call practice & an educational site for animal health and advocacy.

Ethical Veterinary prioritizes each patient's health above conflicting industry interests, convention, and cultural trends. Its recommendations derive only from scientific research, sound statistical data and clinical experience. Consequently, Dr. Jefferson does not advocate the following: declawing, cosmetic ear cropping/tail docking, convenience euthanasia, overvaccination, anti-vaccination, ove

ruse of prescription medications, or reliance on homeopathy/non-evidence-based remedies and telemedicine. Ethical Veterinary does not operate inside the pervasive fallacies that infection (“positive test”) equals disease, or that correlations constitute evidence. Ethical Veterinary provides in-home physical exams, vaccinations, titers, full labwork, ear and skin disease diagnostics/treatment, chronic disease management, geriatric care, behavioral consults, and reverent at-home euthanasia. For the last 13 years, Dr. Jefferson has also served as a consultant and strategist for animal advocacy efforts at the local, state and national level.

Beautiful, mink-soft Gracie needs a new loving home! Her person is facing health challenges and an impending move to a senior living facility.

Gracie is 13 yrs old and has been very well cared for; she has had routine dentals, is up-to-date on recommended vaccines, and has normal bloodwork. In addition, her person is happy to provide a fund for future veterinary expenses in her new home.

Gracie was adopted as a semi-feral kitten 12+ years ago, but has since been indoor-only. She is well-adjusted to home life and has no fractious behaviors. She is shy, reserved, and mostly deaf. She seems to miss her cat companion who passed away about a year ago, and would do best in a quiet home with a sensitive person/couple and at least one other cat.

Interested parties can leave a message on the EthVet practice line at (845) 687-7547. Please SHARE widely and let's find sweet Gracie a great home. Thanks so much!

ADOPTABLE CATTIE!

Hello, DOLLY! I have met this lady in person and can vouch for her charm, elegance, friendliness, and the way she looks like the subject of a French painting!

Her two kittens are in the process of being adopted, but Dolly is soon to be all alone. She is approximately 1 year old, fully vetted, FeLV/FIV negative, has her spay scheduled, and is in good health. At the current time she is living amicably with both dogs and cats.

If you or someone you know might be interested in adopting this special cattie, please call the EthVet practice line (845) 687-7547 and I'll put you in touch with her foster.

Thank you!

❤️ADOPTABLE KITTEN TIME!

Emmy Lou, Linda, and their (young) mother Dolly are all up for adoption, together or separately! The kittens are approximately 5 months old, and all three are healthy, vetted, and scheduled to be spayed.

From their foster mom:
"The kittens are highly socialized and are soft and floppy when you pick them up. They’re both little scamps who love to play, and they sleep on top of each other. So I think they should be adopted together if possible. Mama is also quite friendly, and will have entire conversations with you. She loves getting face pets, but is a little stiff when you pick her up. But part of that may be due to all the recent changes in her life. She would probably be fine either as an only cat, or in a home with another cat. If she were going to be adopted with one of the kittens, it should probably be with the white nose girl (Linda)."

If interested, please leave a message on the EthVet practice line (845) 687-7547 and I'll get you in touch with their foster. If you can't adopt, please LIKE and SHARE to help find them a home...thank you!

Very special cat in need of an adopter - please LIKE and SHARE, thanks so much!

Description from his current foster:
"Gandalf is a 5-year-old friendly but shy cat who bonds with one person at a time. He’s super-snuggly with his person and loves to sit on your lap and sleep in bed. He’s very vocal and loves to meow and purr. He can never get enough pets and love. He gets along well with other cats and small animals, but not dogs. Gandalf has genetic cardiomyopathy and takes a liquid medication for it daily. His medication makes him drink and urinate more, but he is litter box trained. His cardiomyopathy makes him ineligible to be anesthetized, meaning he is not neutered, and cannot be. However, I've only known him to spray under extreme stress. He is very well behaved and does not scratch furniture. I love this cat dearly and want to see him go to a loving home. I have to part with him due to the stress that my dog causes him. I know he deserves to be in a stress-free home."

If you think you might have the right home environment for this sweet and handsome boy, please leave a message on the Eth Vet practice line at (845) 687-7547.

Because adoptable dog Roscoe at the Town Of Saugerties Animal Shelter is so similar to Dr. J's beloved dog, she's offering a special FREE house call and intro exam or annual exam to any Eth Vet client who adopts him. Our sources say he's "around 1-1/2 years old, super sweet, and great with other dogs...plus he's ambidextrous with his paws!" Come on, EthVet clients, somebody go meet this adorable boy! And even if you can't adopt him, please like and share. Thank you.

Please share, especially if you live in the New Paltz/Gardiner area.
