**PX RATS: A NEW CHAPTER 🖤**
We’re at a turning point here at PX Rats. Some things are changing, some are staying the same, and we have a lot of work ahead as we look toward 2027.
First, Veruca’s new arrivals! We’re looking at around seven tiny black beans. We’ll confirm the final count when the time is right, giving mom plenty of time with her babies. If the count holds, we expect to place with just one or two carefully selected families, and we’ll be keeping all the girls from this litter.
We have a couple more pairings planned before year’s end, but our focus is shifting toward preserving, rebuilding, and strengthening our core lines.
🖤 Bella’s legacy & the J-line — We’re committed to preserving the J-line into 2027, with health, longevity, sound type, and exceptional temperament at the heart of our work. Future pairings will be done with this solely at its forefront.
🖤 Rebuilding our foundation — We’re actively working toward bringing back our Russian Blues and Moons.
🖤 A focused program — We’ll no longer maintain the Sugar & Spice subline or EVO outcross separately. We’ll continue with a small number of carefully curated and planned litters. We do not endorse or support breeding for feeder demand, we’re not chasing every new color or variety trend that pops up each season.
🖤 Health and temperament over color— Our litters will mostly feature classic, uniform varieties because color has never been the priority. We don’t work with dwarf, hairless, American Blue, or Harley varieties, and we don’t plan to. They may be available elsewhere, but they’re not varieties we want to support or build our program around.
We still have a long way to go, and we don’t have every detail figured out. Preserving lines takes time, patience, and decisions that put the future ahead of immediate gains. We won’t buy into the hype, and we won’t give up on these rats or the mission we’ve spent years building.
