CSDEA Festival & Championship was filled with lots of wonderful memories and times by our riders. The weather was great (even if it did sprinkle a little on Saturday night) and everyone was successful.

Jessie rode Deena Helminiak's Halcyonia Gunsmoke for his first ever freestyle (2nd level) and scored a very respectable 68%. They also showed 2-3 on Saturday and finished with 69.167%, which was good enough for 1st place. For the championship on Sunday they did 1-3 and 2-3 and were Reserve Champion for both of these classes. For his second show this year they did great and we look forward to seeing Hank in the show ring more next year!

Sydney and Jetta took the show by storm! They finished with a Champion and a Reserve Champion and had beautiful rides both days. Congratulations!!

Nora and Halcyonia Black Raven had a great show (and did some bonding as well - see photo) and came away with a 1st place and two other ribbons and had some wonderful rides as well. Congratulations!!

Also pictured is Jessie (Hank) and Leah Peterson (Mojo). Mojo was bred by Jessie and Leah is doing a wonderful job with him and we are super excited to see where they go together.

Hank & Eli (Halcyonia Eli's Song) were old friends from back in the day and spent some time together before the awards ceremony catching up! It's so great to see these ponies doing so great!

We made it to our first show of the year last weekend at the beautiful Otter Creek Farm and had a great time with some really wonderful rides from everyone who showed.

• Josh Solsvig debuted his I1 Freestyle with Lacksette and did not disappoint with a high score of 71.775%. It’s always great to watch these two together and now it’s even more fun with music.

• Deena Helminiak and Halcyonia Gunsmoke (Hank) made their Second Level debut and came away with scores for their bronze medal. So excited to see what the summer has in store for these two.

• Elliana Linn and Tjalke B returned home from college just in time to join us and did not disappoint! Earning themselves 5 blue ribbons and 1 red while showing at Training and First Levels with a high score of 71.667%. We are so excited to have them back with us for the show season!

• Monica Pinkerman and Horseradish recently joined the SGDA family and together they also made their Second Level debut and received the scores needed for their bronze medal and earned themselves 2 blue ribbons over the weekend. Welcome and we look forwarded to a successful show season together.

We had a great weekend at Otter Creek for our first show! Jessie Olmsted & Lacksette got their qualifying scores at I2 (thank you James Torseth for the opportunity) Bridget Bursey and Wally got their qualifying scores at 3rd level, Deena Helminiak and Hank had their highest scores ever and got one qualifier, Sheryl Graham and Starbucks had a great first show together, Amy Swanson-Bjork and Raven had a great weekend, Larina Alton and Kyron had their 2nd level debut, Louise Scharin & Arwen had a fabulous ride on Sunday and Elliana and Tjalke had a great weekend with a score over 70%! Special thanks to Josh Solsvig for getting us there & back safely. Looking forward to a great show season.

Our very own manager; Josh Solsvig, sat down with SGDA boarder and editor of CSDEA Cross Country magazine Deena Helminiak to talk about his recent foray into showing and being in the minority in show ring. Josh has always been at the shows with us, he drives the horses to the shows (along with doing so many other things for us), so wherever we go, he goes. Now though, he is showing right along side of us, winning blue ribbons and championships along the way, and it's been a lot of fun. Congrats on the shout out Josh!
