These 10 puppies need a home. They are all ready to go.

Miss Opie had a “bit” of a go of it, one of her siblings got a little to rough when playing and if anyone knows how sharp puppy teeth can be then they would know how easily they could tear through someone’s lip. But a few stitches later and she’s all healed and ready to go but during her recovery time she got a little bit of extra attention and man did she soak that right up.
And yes you can see Miss Oakley was also playing a bit too hard. But shhhh she doesn’t think so.

Sally thought Lenny was fighting an ear infection due to him shaking his head all the time. He also had a pea sized lump on his jaw. Took him to the vet yesterday they kept him all night to sedate him this morning to see what was wrong. The doctor called Sally today after surgery and said they removed a bullet! No ear infection just a bullet. Thank you Dr. Erin at River Ridge Hospital and the vet technicians for your compassion and care.

If you remember, Lenny was one of the original 3 Quill Crew that was rescued on the Eve of MN Gun Deer Season 2023.

Update on Miss Opal.

She is out of surgery and doing ok so far. Hoping if all continues well, we can get our girl tomorrow. 🤞🤞🤞

What has been going on, They kept her over the weekend on some antibiotics to help get some of the infection out of her body, we know for sure that she had Pyrometra which is what they did surgery for today. The big reason she had to stay over the weekend is because initially they thought she had Mastitis as well but it turned out to be an abscess that had ruptured which is probably from her puppies (LBH…11 little hungry babies can get kinda rough). However with that abscess being there, it had infection in it and it was also in the same area they needed to perform her spay in and they were concerned about the infections spreading between the two.

So hopefully she will pull through all this as we know she’s tough and she’s a fighter and has a heart of gold. 💛

Miss Opal is scheduled for surgery Monday morning. Please keep her in your prayers. Please share and help us raise some funds to cover her stay at the vet as she has been there since Friday and will have several more days post surgery.

We are at the vet this morning with Miss Opal for possible surgery as her diagnosis is possible Pyrometra and possibly Mastitis. They are consulting the surgeons on what the next step is. We do know this will be an expensive process. If you want to help with the surgery costs you can donate here:

Late last night we noticed some discharge in her kennel and we have had experience with this in the past and if not treated quickly the outcome is not a good one.
On the positive she had weaned her puppies last week and they are doing well and with Opals experience as a mother we trust her instincts.

We will post updates when we know more.
