Fall Dog Agility classes are starting soon! Now that the weather will be cooling down, it's time to get outside and do something fun with your dog. Agility is a great way to bond with your dog, build their confidence, work on off leash skills and spend some social time for you and your pup. There is no prerequisite for this course - we will teach you everything you need to know. The seven-week course will begin on Sunday September 15th. We want to send out a huge congratulations to our Rally Obedience students that competed in the rally trial held by the Maryland Sporting Dog Association at the Howard County Fairgrounds this past weekend. Congrats to Lily, Archie, Chance, Mandar and Tenne on your qualifying scores!

We have some exciting news! The Animals' House has partnered with the North American Veterinary Blood Bank NAVBB to be a Donation Host Location. If you have a dog between 1 and 7 years old and over 50 lbs, they can qualify to be a blood donor. Donation only takes a few minutes, but can save up to four dogs' lives. Best of all, your pup can donate while enjoying a day playing with their friends at our daycare center. Donors receive free flea/tick/heartworm preventatives and complimentary annual blood screening. Our first health screening will take place at The Animals' House on Tuesday Feb. 20th. Looking for something fun to do with your dog this fall? Why not try out one of our sport classes? Dog Agility, Rally Obedience and Scent Work are all a ton of fun, and there is no prerequisite for these classes! Dogs of all sizes, ages and abilities are all welcome! Say Hello to Ash (the puppy) and Goose (the bigger puppy). Both are German Short Hair Pointers and as goofy as they are beautiful. They are not related but gravitated towards each other almost instantly. We just had to let them meet. Once Ash is a little bigger they will play all day we're sure!

Meet Odin and Freya - the sweetest Aussie sibling pair we have ever seen! Odin, 11 months old, is the best big brother to little Freya, 4 months old. He has had a blast showing her the ropes of The Animals' House as they participate in one of our boot camp programs. When they aren't busy posing for the pup-arazzi, playing chase with their friends, or learning new skills with their trainer Kathy, you can find (and join!) Odin and Freya in a big cuddle puddle. Truffles is here for a 2 week bootcamp. He lives with small children and has a tendency to get a little amped up around them. Here he's learns some impulse control and responding to commands while one of our other trainers, Sam, simulates a crazy kid environment with her child. Asking our dog for a down is good, but getting them to stay down until released is the goal. Obedience is about behavior, they are not tricks. Here Pele, a bootcamp dog, shows what a down looks like around distractions. He is showing interest in what's going on, but never releases himself.
