Let's talk about the importance of hiring a professional pet sitter.

A professional pet sitter will be licensed, bonded and insured. When you are looking around for a pet sitter please make sure you are asking to see the sitter's insurance/bonding certificate. You may also ask to see their business license, references and referrals from other clients. Asking to see all of these documents will definately help ease your mind regarding your pets well being.

The importance of a pet sitter being insured is so you have the peace of mind that if anything happens to your pet, property or their property you will not be financially liable (this includes vet bills). Bonding will protect you from theft. You will also not have to worry about anyone other than the pet sitter in your home.

A professional pet sitter will also be able to tell if there is anything wrong with your pet and take appropriate measures to ensure the safety of your pet. They will also have back up in case of an emergency, illness, or car troubles. Your pet and home will be their top priority.

What does license, bonded, and insured mean?

A business license is a permit, issued by a governmental entity, that allows an individual or company to operate a business in a particular geographical area.

A fidelity bond (or dishonesty bond) usually insures a business in the event that an employee steals from a client. If this happens, and the employee is found guilty of theft, the bonding company will pay for the stolen items. Many sole-proprietors are bonded, but this is mostly for their clients’ peace of mind.

Pet sitter liability Insurance works much like any other insurance. It covers accidents that may affect the client’s pets or property while the pet sitter is on an assignment. If a company offers boarding or daycare they must have pet daycare & boarding coverage to extend the liability insurance to cover incidents at their home or pet daycare operation. This coverage is required if the company will be taking client animals (even just one at a time) to any private location (ex. their home) or facility that they own or rent.

***No matter which company you chose, please make sure they have a business license and for yours and your pets protection please make sure they are insured and bonded.***

Due to the code red air quality today, we have instructed our sitters and walkers to limit outdoor time for the pups to brief potty breaks. The remainder of each visit will be spent indoors with playtime and snuggles.

This measure is to ensure the safety and well-being of both the pups and our team.

🛑ATTENTION CLIENTS🥵
Due to extreme temperatures for the remainder of the week, walks and outdoor time will be limited to 15 minutes to ensure the safety of both your pets and our walkers.

For the remainder of the visit, your walker will focus on indoor playtime and providing plenty of attention to your pup. If you would prefer to adjust your service to a 15 or 20 minute visit, or if you would like to cancel your service for the week, please let us know.

With extreme temperatures expected to begin this Wednesday, I would like to remind everyone of our summer protocols to ensure the safety of your pets:

Summer Protocols

🥵Heat Safety: If temperatures are extreme, walkers may shorten 30 minute walks to 15 or 10 minutes.
🌞Outdoor Time: In extreme heat, walkers will focus on potty breaks and move playtime indoors. Walkers check the pavement for safety; if it is too hot for a hand, it is too hot for paws. They will prioritize grass and shade.
⛈️Inclement Weather: Walks continue in the rain unless there is lightning or a tornado warning. Please leave out towels for the walkers to dry your pups.
💧Hydration: Walkers will ensure pups have fresh, cool water. We recommend adding an extra water bowl during this time.

🐾Clients also have the option to proactively shorten 30 minute visits to 15 or 20 minutes or to cancel service as needed. Please just let me know so I can adjust the schedule.
