Happy Halloween Y’all 🎃👻

With October coming to an end, if anyone has any pumpkins that aren’t bleached & are paint free, feel free to drop them off here at the farm for our piggies 🐽 & horses 🐴.

They love all the pumpkins they can get 🎃🖤 we can also come pick them up at well 😊

Update on our sweet boy Pie 🥧

We’ve graduated to 2 week follow ups, the vet was pleased with his eye progress even though is very slow to heal and make improvement. Some improvement is better than no improvement so we’ll take it. We have increased the frequency in meds hoping that will help as well 😊 thank you everyone for the thoughts, prayers, & continued support during this uncertain time with Pie 💙🐴 We appreciate it more than you know!

Pies 🥧 new mask came in today to help keep his eyes protected while we still aggressively treat it with all the medications he’s getting. Here’s to hoping it starts to show more improvement! He’s not a fan but I think he’s finally used to having a mask on in general. He let out a sigh of relief when I took the first one off but quickly was over it when he realized it was simply to put the new one on 🤦🏻‍♀️😞

Here’s to hoping he will leave his vizor on tonight while he’s relaxing in the barn with his best boy Cash. 💰 🐴
According to Joey we will be referring to Pie as “Darth Vader” for the rest of the week 😂

Quick Sunday update for our sweet boy Pie 🥧🐴. He’s had a long weekend on stall rest in the barn with his bestie Cash. He’s slow to show improvement but we’re not giving up hope yet. We will continue around the clock care with his meds & continue to pray that he overcomes this injury 🙏❤️

As always, thank you to all of our followers for your continued prayers and support 💙🐴

Hay friends, Happy Friday 😊 we’ve all made it through another long work week & all the extra that comes with it.

First off, we would like to say thank you to every single person that participated in our $5 Friday last week 💰, originally that’s what we were going to continue this week but things here at Frostbite have been an emotional rollercoaster this week.

All we’re asking from our followers, friends, & family is all the thoughts, prayers, & good vibes to be sent our way for one of our OG rescues Pie.

Pie 🥧 was a 2025 owner surrender that Frostbite became his permanent place to land & he’s enjoyed every minute with us ❤️. Unfortunately he had an eye injury this past weekend & the vet believes he might have scratched his eye on his hay. With him being a senior horse surgery isn’t the best option for him because the risks outweigh the potential benefit so he’s been treated aggressively with IV meds, orals, topicals, & medicated eye drops. Pie is getting around the clock care & has adapted okay to being in the barn full time with his bestie cash & getting to wear eye protection that makes him look like a handsome pirate. 😊 we pray that he starts to show improvement with his eye ulcer before our vet returns next week for his check up.

We owe our vet Dr. Claire Summers with Dog & Pony Show Equine Vet the biggest THANK YOU for everything her & her team has done for our horses over the years as well as this past week ❤️

We appreciate if you’d read this far, hopefully Pie will show improvement over the weekend but we will keep everyone updated regardless.

If anyone would like to donate towards Pie’s fund so far for vet care, meds, recovery supplies, & his protective visor were currently sitting at $1,351.

We’re starting something new here at Frostbite Acres Farm & Rescue!

🚨🐴 IT’S $5 FRIDAY, AND THESE HORSES ARE HUNGRY! 🌾😂

Our horses don’t understand budgets, inflation, or the cost of hay. They just know their grain & hay better be served! 🤣

Meanwhile, we’re over here trying to keep bellies full and hay in the barn for winter! ❤️

💚 Can you spare $5 today to help our rescue? Every little bit adds up, and every dollar helps us care for the horses in our care who deserve a second chance.

Midweek gratitude 🐴🤎

Feeling especially grateful tonight that we’re able to give horses a second chance. There’s nothing quite like watching a horse come in needing love, patience, and care—and slowly watching them become healthy, happy, & regaining trust in humans again.

Whether their journey leads them to a loving new forever home or gives them a safe place to live out their golden years here with us, I’m thankful to be a small part of their story. ❤️

Every horse deserves to feel safe, loved, & cared for.

If you feel led to support what we do, even the smallest donation toward upcoming farrier & vet care as well as feed or hay means more than you know. And if donating isn’t possible, simply sharing our posts helps too. 🐴💙

Thank you to everyone who supports giving these sweet souls second chances—it truly takes a village. 💙

Happy Friday friends,

We’re still in search of hay for the winter here at the rescue. We know everyone is struggling with finding hay especially with Virginia being in a state of emergency for the hay shortage. If our followers could drop contact info below for local hay suppliers we greatly appreciate it🐴💙

As always we’re still accepting monetary donations towards hay as well. We appreciate everyone’s love and support as we continue to carry out our mission of helping these sweet babies get a second chance at life!

Good morning friends,

We are looking for a reputable farrier to come to the farm here in Stephens City, Va to help with routine trims for our 5 horses & 1 donkey that we currently have. Our horses are barefoot and don’t wear shoes since they’re all retired. Our current farrier has had an increase in clientele & doesn’t have the same availability she used to. Feel free to drop your suggestions below or tag them so we can get in contact with them 😊🐴

Thanks in advance!

Perfect ending to a busy day for us. One of our 8 month old sweet Kune Kune crosses “Muffins” made his way to his new forever home! He did so good during transport and was so excited to meet his new piggie friend and donkeys that he will be with 🐷 This what rescue work is all about! ❤️ We hope everyone has a great weekend & reminder we still have a few more Kune Kune crosses looking for their forever homes 😊
