Shes a real catch 🎣 🐟 !

This past weekend, we came out to play in the UPA - Poodle Specialty & UKC Western Classic and brought home the big ribbons 🥰

Thursday - Under Judge Lynn Martin, in a huge entry of 36 Poodles, Tuna brought home a

✨Reserve Best In Specialty Show✨

To say I was shocked is an understatement 🤣 I really need to work on my “OMG WE WON” face 🤣

This win also finished her✨UKC Championship✨

Friday - Under Nudge Claire Mancha Tuna was awarded a Group 4 in a lovely Companion group !

We also got to test out the speed and drive in this tiny dog, and boy was I impressed !

We went onto trying out DASH, where she earned 4 Q’s over the weekend, earning her not just her ✨DASH✨ title, but THREE- ✨TOTAL DOG AWARDS✨ as well !!

We did a fun run in Precision Coursing, which was set up for the Masters level course, and Miss thang did a CLEAN run for her very first time ! I decided to do day of entry runs for her sunday, where she earned 2/3 of her Q’s towards her RACEN title!

We shared the love with her family members including her mother Sifi ! Sif didnt dissapoint this weekend either, bringing home an Altered Group 1 and Group 3, and looked DARLING in the Altered Best in Show ring 🥰 thank you Tiffany DuBois for this spicy little Tuna Roll, and bringinging her momma out to strut her spicy attitude too !

Huge thank you to Teri Gregson for being an amazing mentor, friend, and breeder, and showing up and supporting my crazy UKC antics ! Huge congratulations on your clean sweep this weekend, it’s always an honor to show side by side and share a ring with the most beautiful examples of the breed 🥰 thank you so much for your years of dedication to breeding the absolute best dogs, I am so incredibly thankful for the opportunity to have this incredible girl !

Exciting news 🙂

Tuna’s Embark results are in, and aside from one copy of IVDD that we will keep in mind in future breeding, everything else came back great !

Tuna carries for PHANTOM coloring ! Although color was never on my checklist of things, I am a lover of my multicolored poodles, and well bred multicolored toys are unheard of. It’s not going to be a main focus in future pairings, but if all other boxes are checked off, and we have the opportunity arise, we will definitely jump on it !

We had a great time this weekend connecting with our UKC friends 🥰 Tuna and I took a solo trip to the Cascade American Pit Bull Terrier Club’s show this weekend, and met up with one of the puppies sired by our Charlemagne !

“Finrir” is a service dog in training, and is the absolute sweetest baby boy 🥰 his manners were impeccable, his ability to adapt quickly in a new, and very busy environment was fabulous ! He wasnt sure what we were doing for his first time in, but by show 2, he had a better idea, and by day 2, he was ready to get his snacks and win his ribbons 🥰
We were surprisingly the only Standard Poodle puppy, but nonetheless, a lovely representationof the breed, and improvement in our breeding programs !
Finrir was awarded Best Of Breed all weekend, and had a fun time in the best puppy in show ring 🥰

“Petunia” aka “Tuna” had a great weekend out as a class bitch 🥰 showing toys is so different than showing standards, but we got the hang of it ! She was the only Toy entered in the variety, but had enough competition with Mini’s entered to earn all of her competition wins (plus a binus comp win), and 70/100 of her points needed for her UCH ! Thank you Judges Steven Melgreen, and Susan Nikkel for the lovely feedback, and the Group 3rd placements in a huge and stunning lineup of Companion group !

Thank you to everyone who has supported us over the years, and helped me reach goals I never thought attainable 🥰

I have enjoyed every moment spent with my dogs, watching them grow from silly puppies, to the amazing dogs they are today. We have had so much fun dabbling in all the dog sports, and I will always hold a special place in my heart for the conformation ring.

In the short 4 years we were a team, we have 2 Emerald Grand Champions, 3 Grand Champions, and 2 Champions (one sits 1 competition win from being a grand as well). Out of those, all but one was our bred by 🥰 Every single one of my dogs has earned multiple Total dog Awards, and proven that they really can do it all!

I love my dogs more than anything, and I am grateful for everything we’ve accomplished together. Everything I do is for them 🥰

It’s my turn to return the favor, to pay them the respect they’ve more than earned, and put their needs and well being before any of my breeding or showing goals.

It is my duty as a breeder to stand behind the decisions I’ve made, to stand with the puppies and their families, and support them.

Due to recent diagnosis of Addisons Disease in my program, i have made the decision to pull all of my standards from breeding.

As a whole, the Mazama Family is working together to help research efforts into diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of the common disease, and openly talking about it in hopes that we stop the stigma of it being hidden and “hush hush”

My goal has always been to better the breed, and I feel that this is just a different approach to that goal

Again, thank you everyone for the years of love and support 🥰

The biggest thank you goes out to the families of my puppies (even if they are all grown up 🥹) for being so kind, supportive and understanding, and helping me feel comfortable enough to speak publicly about it. I cannot thank you all enough 🥰

Depending who you are, Family, friend, or fan, you may know this kid by a different name!

Puppy name “Petunia”
A flower in the nightshade family, known for its colorful blooms

Given name “Phaeleh” or “Fae” a fanged faery residing in the deep woods

Call name “Tuna” because her birth families kiddo called her Tuna, short for Petunia, and it just stuck !

Tuna is the future of our Toy Poodles 🥰

Happy New Year everyone !

Here’s what you can expect in 2025 from the Mazama family;

We will be doing limited showing, but will still be making an appearance with the two toys, Lumen and Tuna in both AKC/UKC !

Magnolia and Hokori will be adding that alphabet soup to their names, as well as health testing !

Sugi and Mage will be stepping up to a different kind of competition, this time, it’s the human proving her skills (me 😅) and will be used as grooming competition dogs !

Charlemagne is enjoying his life at home as a stud, and is still available to approved females who meet our heath testing and title requirements !

At this time we have no breeding plans for 2025, but have some exciting possibilities for 2026 for our Standards !

Moving forward, all puppies placed, are being placed as pets only, on limited AKC registration, with a spay and neuter contract to be completed by 2 years of age. This does not mean we are producing only pet quality puppies, this just means our focus is finding the best forever families for our beautiful puppies.

We encourage you to chase your dreams, and we’ll be right there supporting you, answering any questions you may have !

Anyone interested in UKC conformation, is welcome to utilize the 2 years of the dogs being intact to try out showing ! Once the dogs are spayed/neutered, we encourage you to continue to show in UKC Altered conformation !

Performance sports are not affected by intact/spay/neuter, and is something anyone can do, at any level of experience !

We will not be placing puppies for potential service dogs for the foreseeable future, however we will continue to follow through with ESI, ENS, and Puppy Culture protocols, and will continue to temperament test at 7 & 9 weeks of age, and place puppies based on those results.

We absolutely appreciate the love, and support we have received and are taking this year to prepare to offer you all the very best of our abilities and the puppies who reflect all that hard work and dedication.
We will continue to grow our legacy, and build a better program with every litter, and although it may be a slow process since we are so small scale, it’s absolutely worth it 🥰

I will be opening up a waiting list for 2026 for Standards, and a waiting list for Toys for 2027.
We will not move forward on breeding plans unless I have at least 10 homes who are dedicated to the litter, with deposits down 8 weeks prior to the breeding occurring. If the breeding does not take place due to a lack of homes, the deposit will be 100% refunded.

Our website is currently offline for reconstruction, and all applications will be done directly through us, as we have decided to move away from the Good Dog platform. Our Good Dog page will continue to be active, and will still receive application requests and messages, but will not be utilized for finalizing placements.

Thank you all for an amazing year, and for all the patience while we’ve worked out the kinks of life, I am forever grateful to be where I am today, and it’s all thanks to you and my amazing dogs 🥰
