While Dr. McKenna Thompson is busy caring for patients, Timber can usually be found relaxing in her office, keeping an eye on things from behind the scenes.

Although he prefers the comfort of his favorite spot, Timber occasionally makes an appearance around the clinic and is always happy to soak up a little extra attention when he does. 🐶

His sweet personality has made him a favorite among our team, and we’re pretty sure he’d win “Employee of the Month” every single time. 😉

Whether they bark, purr, neigh, cluck, bleat, or chirp we’re honored to care for the animals that mean so much to our community.

☀️🐴 Some days are just hard to beat.

Dr. Thompson and Makayla recently spent part of their day caring for this sweet 28-year-old horse during his annual wellness visit. Between his physical examination, dental float, vaccinations, sheath cleaning, and Coggins test, he received a full day of preventative care—and plenty of attention along the way!

One of the things we love most about veterinary medicine is the opportunity to get out into our community and care for animals where they live. Whether we’re seeing puppies and kittens in the hospital or horses on the farm, we’re honored to be part of our patients’ lives at every stage.

Seeing senior patients like this handsome gentleman still enjoying life is especially rewarding, and we think he may have stolen the spotlight for the day. 💚

Did someone say DONUT? 🍩🐾

Annie is rocking the ultimate fashion statement today. We told her it’s National Donut Day, but we don't think this is what she had in mind.

Still 10/10, would definitely glaze over with affection. Drop a picture of your pet wearing the 'forbidden donut' in the comments!

Our lovely Ms. Sheila with Sheila the kitten! 🐱💚

Sheila the kitten developed a severe eye infection that unfortunately progressed to the point where her eye could not be saved. To keep her comfortable and prevent ongoing pain, surgical removal of the affected eye (an enucleation) was the best option.

We are happy to report that Sheila is almost through her recovery and doing wonderfully! Cats are incredibly resilient and typically adapt very well to life with one eye. Most continue to play, climb, explore, and enjoy life just as they did before.

We are so proud of this sweet girl and grateful to be part of her journey back to health. 💚🐾

Who doesn’t love new puppies?! 🐶💙

Meet sweet Rufus! This adorable Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppy is already stealing hearts—both ours and his new family’s.

At his recent visit, Rufus received his next round of puppy vaccinations, was screened for intestinal parasites, and started on parasite prevention to help keep him healthy as he grows. Setting puppies up for success early is one of the best gifts we can give them!

We are so excited to watch Rufus grow and are grateful to be part of his journey for years to come. 🐾💚

🇺🇸 Memorial Day Closure Notice 🇺🇸

In observance of Memorial Day, North Iredell Animal Hospital will be closed on Monday as we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our great country. Their sacrifice and dedication will never be forgotten. ❤️🤍💙

We will be open all day today, and we currently have appointment availability if your pet needs to be seen before the long holiday weekend. Whether your pet is feeling under the weather, due for care, or you’d like peace of mind before traveling, we’d be happy to help. 🐾
