The Humane Society of Statesboro & Bulloch County, Inc. We are NOT the Bulloch County Animal Shelter. Without a central building, we rely on foster homes until our pets find their forever homes.

hrough its rescue program and its spay/neuter program. We educate the community on humane pet treatment, adopting pets from rescues and shelters, and the importance of spaying and neutering. All donations are tax-deductible according to the law.

For French Fry 🐾A small kitten, later named French Fry, was spotted rummaging near a fast food dumpster alone, hungry, and scared. A kind community member set a trap, planning to TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return) him. All fosters and rescues and shelters are full these days, but when we heard him purring in the trap, we knew—we had to try to find him a home.
What we didn’t know was the damage that was already done. French Fry was infested with fleas, dangerously anemic, with a wound on his side. Despite our efforts, he was too fragile to survive. He was with us only a short while, but long enough to remind us why we do this.
We don’t share stories like this to break your heart. We share them because French Fry mattered. Every animal does. Spay/neuter saves lives! It prevents kittens from being born into a world where they suffer and die unseen.
This is the reality of rescue: small lives hanging in the balance, and heartbreak woven into the hope. If this story resonates with you, please consider donating. 🐾 SEPTEMBER FIX: Low-Cost Spay & Neuter Days

‼️🚨ALL DOG SURGERIES HAVE BEEN FILLED as of 8/27 –You will recieve an email notifying you if you have a surgery appointment or not.

The Humane Society of Statesboro and Bulloch County (HSSBC), in partnership with Fixing the Boro, is making it easier and more affordable to spay and neuter pets this September.

Thanks to funding from the Georgia Department of Agriculture’s Dog and Cat Sterilization Grant, you can have your pet spayed or neutered for just $15 total!

✅ What’s Included

-Rabies vaccination
