On September 8, roadwork will begin along 271st Street NW (at 88th Ave NW near the Police Station and the Midblock Crossing) to create a safer, more vibrant, and connected downtown. Improvements include: 👇

✅Safer pedestrian crossings
✅Inground lighting for better visibility
✅Sidewalk and streetscape upgrades
✅Fresh paving and striping

While construction is underway, our local businesses need your support more than ever. Love local and shop, dine, and explore downtown. Construction is anticipated to be complete by mid-October. This work is part of the City's Twin City Mile initiative, a multi-year, several phase project aimed at revitalizing Stanwood's downtown corridors.

Who is ready to watch The Little Rascals tonight at Church Creek Park?! We’re watching the skies — there’s a 40% chance of rain late this evening — so we’ll be starting the movie right at 8:00 PM to make sure everyone enjoys the film before any drops fall.

We'll have two great vendors offering sweet treats and snacks — Merry Little Baker LLC and Stanwood Cupcakes. Complimentary water and popcorn will also be provided, thanks to Les Schwab Tire Center.

National Night Out never disappoints! Once again, this incredible event reminded us what community spirit is all about.

A huge thank you to Stanwood Police Department for organizing this beloved annual tradition—and for everything you do to keep our community safe.

Shoutout also to our amazing public safety and community partners, businesses, residents, and everyone in between who came out, participated, and made the night unforgettable. It’s evenings like these that make Stanwood so special.

Big things are happening at Heritage Park! Construction on a new all-ages, accessible playground will begin August 18. The playground is expected to be complete by October. Please note: The current play area will be closed during construction.

Work also continues on a new pump track at Heritage which is on track to be finished this September. Stay tuned for project updates!

This project represents years of planning, collaboration, and investment in Stanwood's future, and we're thrilled to officially open this important connection for our community. A special thanks to Representative Rick Larsen's office, Snohomish County, Nate Nehring, Snohomish County PUD, WSDOT, former and current city councilmembers, city staff, Konnerup Construction, and countless others for bringing this project to life.
