🔆 ANIMAL SPOTLIGHT - Wilma 🔆

Meet Wilma, our sweet, lovable camel who has absolutely ZERO concept of personal space! 😂🤎

Wilma is one of the biggest lovebugs at the zoo. She LOVES attention, gives the sweetest camel hugs, and believes that wherever you are… she should probably be there too. 🐪🤗

Personal bubble? Wilma has never heard of it. 😂 If she likes you, expect her to be right by your side, leaning in for hugs, checking out what you’re doing, and making sure she isn’t missing out on anything — especially snacks! 🥕😉

✨Fun facts about camels ✨

🐪camels can go several days without drinking water.
🐪 Camel humps store fat, not water!
🐪 Camels have three eyelids to help protect their eyes from dust and sand.
🐪 Their wide, padded feet help them walk on soft ground.

Wilma is still young, and watching her grow — both in size and personality — has been so much fun. She’s sweet, goofy, nosy, cuddly, and completely convinced she needs to be involved in everything!

🤍🖤 NEW ANIMAL ALERT 🖤🤍

Oh my goodness, the new babies are here! We would like everyone to welcome to the Red River Gorge Petting Zoo our newest animals, a zebra and a zedonk.🦓🦓

Did you know every zebra has an individual stripe pattern just like a fingerprint, which means no two zebras are exactly alike. Did you know that a zedonk is a hybrid? That means her dad was a zebra and her mom was a donkey! How amazing and adorable are they? Those stripes and those ears!

We hope everyone gets the chance to visit us and all the animals soon! 😍🦓🖤🤍

Check out our adorable new fall lineup for stuffed animals in the gift shop. We've got kangaroos, coatimundis, Sulcata tortoises, Patagonian cavies, camels, and much more! So come on out to the Red River Gorge Petting Zoo to meet and pet some amazing animals, and make sure to check out the fun items in the gift shop too! 😊🦘🐎🦙🦝🐏🐾
