Don’t Be Fluffin’ Rude Big or Small, we train and save ‘em all!

Melony Long has been formally training in the Northern Nevada area for a year and a half for non-profits and private clients alike. Her philosophy is an animal, like a child, isn't inherently bad, but without the proper introduction to the world bad decisions can be made and those decisions often lead them to the shelter. She believes her job is to think creatively for each individual dog to ensure both the family or rescue and dog are fulfilled and able to communicate appropriately.

We will be having our first ever group walk for existing and interested clients on Friday May 12 at 5:00 pm and we hope to see you there! The group walk has been created due to similarities in training goals among new and existing clients, the opportunity to utilise reliable dogs for reactivity work, and potential growth of a support system! We can’t wait to get the group together for our first walk of hopefully many!

What you will need:
Your pup, water, appropriate walking gear for you and your pup, and as always an open mind.

Please contact us for more information regarding location, pricing, and to RSVP! We can be reached by PM, phone call, or text message. As a note: we will be capping the class at five dogs to ensure individual needs are met

Sun’s out, tongues out!

Charlie finished up a treat hunt in the grass at the Carson City capitol building and just couldn’t resist a good roll in the grass.

Over the last ten months Charlie has blossomed into a pup that can go through stores, meet new people, and experience new things, WHILE having fun! Charlie came to me dog reactive, stranger reactive, and unable to walk down the street without letting out a hoop, holler, and jig about. Through a lot of time, patience, and understanding on his mom’s part and a helping paw from everyone, he slowly began to change into a more fulfilled man with more reasonable reactions to things. Although some things are still tough for Charlie, he improves everyday with the love, time, and perseverance his owner puts into his daily training.

Thank you for being one of my first clients and continuing on with me to this day! I am pawsitively appreciative to all of my clients! 🐾

Gracie has learned so many things about taking direction from outside sources instead of acting on her own volition over the last three weeks. Although we have made a lot of progress, we still have work to do and every interaction Gracie has each day matters. Both of her parents have been great with following her training and it shows!

Gracie is sensitive to the lack of motion and having to wait. It makes her antsy and sometimes she’ll react and let us know with a growl, lifting her lips, or big round eyes and a stiff body. Can you spot the change in Gracie’s face throughout the photos?

Marley has been enjoying her training walks to help with leash manners. Marley was practicing pushing the cart on her own prior to this and she was so happy to succeed. Rewarding our pups isn’t always just giving them a treat. For dogs like Marley it might just be a good play session in the middle of training.
