a dignified final farewell. Benefits of Compassionate Home Euthanasia
For your pet...
When your pet companion is at home in their own environment, they are more comfortable and relaxed. At home, they do not deal with the stress of a car ride and a hospital atmosphere. Particularly for a pet in discomfort, a home euthanasia prevents additional stress and the pain of moving. For you and your family...
Euthanizing at home allows the entire family to be present and provides a private and familiar environment to say goodbye to your pet companion. The grieving process can begin in the comfort of your own home, with family who has shared a special life with you. Other pets in the home are able to be present and say goodbye as well.

It has been an honor to serve Tualatin and the surrounding areas for the past 6 years. Unfortunately, we are no longer able to continue our services. Warmest regards and best wishes from us all.

This is a difficult time for everyone and even more so if you must say goodbye to your beloved family member. We are still able to come to your house with a few modifications to our process. We ask for your understanding during this time so we can keep you, our other clients and our staff as healthy as possible.

We respect the 6-foot social distancing when at all possible, so the compassion that our doctors usually show with hugs or long conversations about your pet will now need to take place over the phone. The majority of our appointments are outside at this time, so please call to ask specifics of what to do if you live in an apartment building or are unable to meet the doctor outside.

We want to keep this process as gentle as it usually is while keeping everyone safe and healthy. If you are sick or have any cold or flu symptoms, we request that we postpone the appointment for 14 days. If this is an urgent situation, then we recommend you have a friend or someone who is not ill either bring your pet to the peacful family room at Dignified Pet Services or to another veterinary clinic.

Our hearts go out to everyone during this difficult time.....

We have been providing hospice care for 3 years now, but wanted to update you with more information regarding what hospice is!

Hospice provides veterinary evaluations of a pet’s condition without the stress of travel or new places. As our pets age there comes a time when further diagnostics and advanced treatment is not appropriate, and this is where hospice steps in. This allows the pet’s family to be directly involved in every decision as we come to your home and discuss your pet’s disease and how we can decrease suffering and pain while your beloved pet fights his/her illness.

When scheduling an appointment with one of our doctors, you will have your prior veterinary records forwarded to be evaluated prior to the doctors arrival. There will be an initial consultation and then weekly or monthly follow up visits to ensure your pet is remaining comfortable as his/her disease progresses, and to help with quality of life discussions, helping you know you are making the right decisions for him/her. You also have the added benefit of direct contact with your veterinarian throughout the hospice duration, for those emergency situations.

Dr. Cherise Hill is our main hospice veterinarian, and can be contacted at 503-783-3390.
