🎉 Au Revoir, Caviar!

Some cats just know where they’re meant to be. Caviar, an adorable 4.5-month-old kitten, literally walked herself up to our shelter door one day and let our staff member, Cody, scoop her right up. From that very first moment, she was a total love bug.

After a little TLC—flea meds, dewormer, vaccinations, and treatment for parasites—Caviar was feeling great and ready to find her family. And guess what? She didn’t have to wait long at all!

Today, we’re thrilled to celebrate that Caviar is now in a wonderful home where she’ll grow up safe, spoiled, and surrounded by love. 🏡❤️

Yummy, Yummy,Yummy... I've Got Food in My Tummy!

Little kitten Chrome - and his brother Mercury - need syringe feeding to get strong and healthy — and we’re happy to be the helping hands...but our hands are also needing some help!

Healing sick kittens is so much harder when they’re picky eaters — and these little guys are the kings! After trying at least 20 different kinds of food, we finally found something they will eat: Meow Mix Pâté and Ge**er Ham Baby Food.

🐾 Kittens, kittens, kittens! 🐾

We’ve got quite a few adorable little fluffballs filling up the shelter right now — and as you can imagine, they’re keeping us on our toes (and paws)!

But as precious as they are, these young kittens can also be picky eaters, and they need a variety of high-quality kitten foods to maintain their weight and stay healthy as they grow. Right now, we’re especially in need of Royal Canin, Sheba, and other wet and dry kitten formulas.

From Spay/Neuter Serenades to Spicy Screeches 🌶️🐾

Earlier this morning we shared a video of kitties meowing their hearts out while waiting for their spay/neuter appointments. But on the other side of the shelter the soundtrack is quite different!

Meet our hot sauce kittens: Sriracha, Cholula, Crystal, Valentina, Frank, Diablo, Texas Pete, and Tabasco. These 8 spicy little souls were found in a window well during a home renovation in Rock Hill. We trapped them and their mom who, being feral, was safely TNR’d by our friends at Full Circle MO Feral. The kittens came to us.

Here's the challenge: they’re not socialized at all. They're around 12 weeks old, which some consider past the “ideal” socialization window. But their home turf was dangerously close to Manchester Rd, and putting them back outside right away just wasn’t an option. They deserve a shot at a life of comfort, play, and love.

So we are going to try. We’ll do everything we can to help them learn to trust and desire human interaction. Will it work? We don’t know yet. But we believe in them - and us! - so we are starting with confidence.

Stay tuned as we work to turn these tiny, but serious, hisses into purrs.

🎶 Tuesday morning tunes, courtesy of… our cats! 🎶

It’s spay/neuter day at The Cat Shelter, and we’ve got a full chorus of not-entirely-harmonius meows as this kitty crew gets ready to be taken to their appointments.

This is a big milestone on their pathway to home, and we are proud to be their caretakers, chauffeurs, and biggest cheerleaders along the way.

Meanwhile, there is a different type of vocaliztion also going on here at the shelter. More on that in our next post... 🐾

We’re sending the sweetest farewell to our regal little friend, King Cake, who has officially found his forever throne! This awesome kitten has charmed everyone with his playful pounces, curious spirit, and that signature royal attitude.

Now, he’s off to begin an exciting new chapter with his amazing adopter—where he’ll be loved, spoiled, and treated like the tiny king he is.

Congratulations to King Cake and his new family. We’re so happy for this purr-fect match. Just look at that love already!

💕 SHOUT OUT’S for the ME-OUT'S

It’s a triple send-off as we say goodbye to Dilly Dally, Blondie, and Fanta! These three incredible cats have officially left the shelter and are on their way to a loving forever home that's all their own. 🥂

Dilly Dally actually wasted no time choosing the perfect person, Blondie charmed everyone with her sunny personality, and Fanta has been the purr-factly sweet orange treat.

We are beyond thrilled for these kitties and their new humans. Thank you to all of their adopters for opening your hearts and homes! 💫

Wishing all three a lifetime of love, cozy naps, window watching, and all the pets they can handle. 🐾
