Ozark Ridge Riders Club

Ozark Ridge Riders Club Welcome to Ozark Ridge Riders, established 1954 by friends who love horses and trail riding We have an annual schedule of day rides around the Greater St.

We are a nice group of people with nice horses with which we love to trail ride and camp. Louis area as well as weekend and week-long horse camping trips we take around Missouri and Illinois, with occasional longer trips elsewhere. We meet monthly to connect with each other, share ride reports, keep abreast of current events in the horse/equestrian world and discuss upcoming rides and trips. We al

so get involved with trail clean-ups, advocating for equestrian use of multi-use trails, and road-trip without our horses to events such as the IL Horse Fair, MO Horsefest, and other horse-related events. We welcome visitors and invite you to join our fun club! Our group ranges both in age and experience - and everyone is willing to help you learn and grow your trail-riding and horse-camping habit if you are new to this world!

As new cases of Equine Herpesvirus (EHV-1 and EHV-4) and Equine Herpes Myeloencephalopathy (EHM) are confirmed, horse owners across the region are seeking clear, practical guidance.

The College of Veterinary Medicine has not identified any cases of EHV at this time, and the Veterinary Health Center continues its standard biosecurity protocol, including temperature checks on every horse prior to entry.

To help owners and the public understand the evolving situation and reduce spread, our equine internal medicine veterinarians are breaking down the essential facts and the most effective steps horse owners can take right now. It was a little chilly, but we had a pretty good turnout for our Chili Ride this past Saturday at Greensfelder. We had at least 8 horses & riders.

Some Rockwoods Range Back Country Horsemen of Missouri were camping there for the weekend and were invited to join us.
Several of us are also members of both groups.

When we rode up to the lookout, we had a nice time with some bicyclists who were having fun and dressed in costumes for Halloween. .

If anyone would like to add a photo, please do so in comments.

Ozark Ridge Riders Club,
Hope you're doing well!
I emailed you in January regarding our barn and pasture that was available for rent and wanted to do the same again this month. We leased it for six months back in March and it will be available again in early October 2025.
Please feel free to pass this information along to your members and please let me know if anyone has any questions.
Sincerely,
Greg Russell

A group of us spent a few days at Cowboy Up in Witts Springs, Arkansas. The weather forecast was not promising, but we got lucky.
The horse stalls were nice and roomy.
The camp hosts were very accommodating, and checked on us regularly.
There were many miles of trails, and we all enjoyed ourselves.
