The Cat Network is extremely grateful to Kram, Jean, and Mark Stone of Full Circle MO Feral for the gifts of their time, expertise, and persistence to trap Tundra after he went missing from his adoptive home. He was outdoors for 10 stressful days and is now safe inside.
Tips: If you are trying to catch a cat, set trap(s) as soon as possible. If you don’t have a trap, there are many groups/shelters who can lend traps. Post and ask.
Check the trap frequently, bait and set it daily with smelly food.
There will be much advice offered that people have read on the internet that is well- intentioned but is not best practice.
We do not recommend putting the cat’s litterbox outside — it will likely draw predators and result in your cat going further away.
We advise against the frequently recommended practice of walking around shining a flashlight into bushes.
Do not chase the cat.
Let the food and trap be, and don’t give up. Sometimes it takes a while to get that cat.
