🎉 Happy National AAHA Day! 🐾

Today we’re celebrating our commitment to providing the highest quality veterinary care. Rock Road Animal Hospital has proudly been AAHA-accredited for 4️⃣8️⃣ years - a distinction earned by only a select percentage of veterinary hospitals. For nearly five decades, we’ve remained dedicated to exceptional medicine, compassionate care, and continually meeting the highest standards for our patients and the families who love them. Thank you for trusting us with your pets! ❤️🐶🐱🖤

Today we’re celebrating an incredible milestone - Lauren’s 20th anniversary at Rock Road Animal Hospital! 🐾

For the past two decades, Lauren has been a dedicated leader, teammate, and advocate for our patients, clients, and staff. Her hard work and commitment have helped shape Rock Road into what it is today.

We were so excited to celebrate her with cake and a one-of-a-kind surprise: Dr. Bednar hand-crocheted this amazing University of Michigan blanket, knowing Lauren is alumna and one of the biggest Wolverine (and college football )fans around! 💙💛

Thank you, Lauren, for 20 years of dedication, and leadership. We’re lucky to have you as part of the Rock Road family. Congratulations! 🎉

HAPPY 15th BIRTHDAY, ANCHOVY! Today we celebrated our favorite white and orange gentleman in true Anchovy fashion - with a fancy birthday outfit, salmon and candles, extra snuggles, and lots of love from his biggest fans. While many people know Anchovy as our first hospital mascot, he’s actually our sweet little scaredy cat. You’ll usually find him tucked safely away in the treatment area, quietly keeping our hospitalized patients company. And if you’ve ever wondered why he’s so often dressed to impress…it’s because our shy boy feels a little braver when he’s wearing one of his fancy outfits. 💛 Here’s to 15 wonderful years of purrs, naps, swats, and making our hospital feel a little more like home. Happy Birthday, Anchovy! 🎂🐱

🐾 Pets and Extreme Heat: Recommendations From Your Veterinarians 🌡️

When temperatures soar, the safest place for your pets is indoors in the air conditioning. Dogs can overheat much faster than we do, and heatstroke can become life-threatening in just minutes.

🚩 Signs your dog may be overheating:
• Excessive panting
• Bright red or pale gums
• Drooling more than usual
• Weakness or stumbling
• Vomiting or diarrhea
• Confusion or collapse

☀️ Keep them safe by:
🐶 Walk early in the morning or after sunset
💧 Give plenty of fresh, cool water
🏡 Keep them indoors during the hottest part of the day
🚗 Never leave them in a parked car, even for a minute
🔥 Check pavement with the back of your hand. If it’s too hot for you, it’s too hot for their paws

If you think your pet is overheating, move them to a cool area, offer small amounts of water, and contact your veterinarian immediately. A little prevention goes a long way in keeping your furry family members safe this summer! ❤️
