Wishing everyone a purr-fectly spooky Halloween! Here's some photos of our furry friends showing off their costumes! 👻🐾

Remember: candy is for humans... not your furry goblins. 🐈‍⬛🐕
🚫 No candy or chocolate (watch for the ingredient xylitol)!
🚫 Be cautious with candles, both inside & outside.
✔️ Keep pets indoors - doorbells ringing & spooky visitors can stress pets out. Keep them in a quiet place if they're reactive.
✔️ With doors opening & closing, make sure your pets have their identification tags on & that their microchip information is up to date!
🚫 Make sure costumes are comfy & safe, with no extra attachments or loose items that might get tangled up around your pet or end up in their mouth & down the hatch.

Have a frightfully fun (& SAFE) evening tonight! 🧡🖤🧡🖤

🩺🐾 Did you know this week is National Vet Tech Week? 🐾🩺

Our vet techs are the superheroes behind the scenes! From holding pets, running labs, drawing blood, monitoring surgeries, keeping the clinic clean, reassuring owners & their pets, educating owners, assisting the doctor, & SO much more... they do it ALL! More times than not, they do it covered in fur, drool, & LORD knows what else!?

Drop a comment below to show some love for our techs in the clinic.

✨ Murphy ✨

Can you believe this baby was found as a STRAY running around with a pack of other pups???? Murphy is the SWEETEST boy around. He's estimated to be around 6-8 months old, so he's still got a lot of growing up to do! He's working on potty training still, so Mom has him on a pretty strict leash (pun intended). He's learning a lot from his older sister, & he's also learning to be an annoying little brother, but they'll hopefully become best buds soon enough!

I don't know who's luckier; Murphy who got sn**ched up by Mom or Mom who was able to sn**ch up this pretty boy!

We can't wait to watch you grow up, handsome boy!

✨ MEET THE STAFF! ✨

Meet Nancy!

Nancy is a Veterinary Technician/Receptionist who has been working in veterinary medicine for 6 years, 3 of them here at our clinic. She comes from an equine background, having worked on several farms, including an equine breeding and reproduction facility. Her passion for animals started early! At just 6 years old, she began her own neighborhood dog walking business and knew she would always work with animals. Around the clinic, she loves assisting in surgeries to ensure every pet receives gold standard care, building strong bonds with clients, and making sure everyone leaves a little more educated than when they came in. At home, she has 4 dogs: Emmi, her sweet Aussie/Beagle mix, Bear, her wild child mutt she rescued off the side of the road in Arkansas, Gunner, a retired duck hunting dog, and Arlo, a rambunctious black lab with one brain cell. She also has 2 cats, Kiki and Nala, complete opposites in personalities but are the best of friends. When she’s not at the clinic, you’ll find her building things out of wood, making vinyl stickers, hunting, cooking, or baking her Grandma’s recipes. Fun fact: Nancy is deaf and hard of hearing, has worn hearing aids since she was 3 months old, and also runs her own pet services business! She will also be on maternity leave towards the end of January, so she'll be missed around the clinic for about 3 months!

🐾 Turbo 🐾

This sweet boy came in for vaccines yesterday & did WONDERFUL. He's a lean bean & very food motivated! He loved all the attention we had to offer him.

It's about time to change the sign out front! We have pretty good ideas, but we want to give our clients a chance to chime in! 🗣

Drop your favorite funny quote, pun, or clever saying in the comments. Bonus points if it'll make someone laugh out loud as they drive past our building.

Think of it as your chance to be roadside famous. 🚘

Some examples to get the brain thinkin':
🐾 "Be the person your dog thinks you are."
🐾 "Dogs welcome. People tolerated.
🐾 "My therapist has four legs."
🐾 'Life is ruff - get belly rubs."

Good morning, folks! 🌞

We love seeing your pets for their routine care: wellness exams, vaccines, & preventive check-ups! To help us keep sick appointments & urgent spots available for our sick friends, we kindly ask that you schedule wellness appointments at least 4-6 weeks in ADVANCE. That being said, if your pet is coming up due for vaccines, please call NOW & get them on the schedule for vaccines. If you are unsure when your pet is due, call 636-724-3200 to see when they were last here.

This way, we can make sure your healthy pets still get the care they need, while leaving room to get sick pets seen quickly when they aren't feeling their best. 🐾❤️

Did you know cats DO show us when they're in pain? It just takes a little practice to recognize the signs. Even though they're pretty stoic animals, they communicate with us in their own way. 😺

The scale focuses on 5 key futures:
1️⃣ Ears: turn outward or flatten when painful
2️⃣ Eyes: become squinted or tightly closed
3️⃣ Muzzle: tension or changes in shape
4️⃣ Whiskers: pulled back or pushed forward
5️⃣ Head position: lowered or tucked in

These small changes can indicate pain, stress, or discomfort - things cats are experts at hiding! 🫣 Like I said, they're pretty stoic animals. By detecting these indicators, we can provide appropriate pain management & improve a cat's quality of life.

Learning to spot these cues can help pet parents catch issues early & get their cats the care they need. ✨ Early recognition = early intervention = a happier, healthier cat. ✨

Comment below if you have ever noticed your own cat(s) making one of these "grimace" faces.
