Happy Halloween! 🎃👻 What spooky fun you have planned for the day! 🕸️

10/30/2026

Halloween is a blast for humans, but all the treats, costumes, and decorations can be tricky for our four-legged family members. Here are a few quick tips to ensure a safe and happy holiday for your pets:

🍫 Keep Candy Out of Reach: Chocolate, candies containing xylitol (artificial sweetener), and wrappers can be toxic or cause blockages.
👻 Safe Costumes Only: Only dress up your pet if they love it! Make sure their costume doesn't restrict breathing, movement, or hearing, and watch out for chewable parts.
🚪 Secure the Door: With trick-or-treaters constantly knocking, keep pets safely in a secure room or crate to prevent them from bolting outside.
🕯️ Watch the Décor: Keep lit jack-o'-lanterns and electrical cords away from curious paws and tails.

Let's make this Halloween fun and safe for everyone! Have questions or need a quick check-up before the festivities? Give us a call at Jackson Veterinary Hospital! 🩺✨

🩺 What Does a Vet Tech Actually Do? 🐾

People often ask what our veterinary technicians do all day, and the truth is: they wear a hundred different hats!

On any given day, our techs act as:
💉 Nurses: Monitoring anesthesia, administering medications, and providing intensive post-op care.
🔬 Lab Scientists: Running bloodwork, analyzing samples, and taking precise digital X-rays.
🐾 Comfort Providers: Calming an anxious pet, holding a paw during an exam, and offering reassurance to worried pet parents.

We truly couldn’t keep Jackson Veterinary Hospital running smoothly without their tireless work, medical expertise, and endless compassion. Thank you for everything you do for our patients and our team! 💙
