Hello Sequoia View Stables students!
The storms have been crazy up here and I just wanted to send an update out to all of you who have contacted us. We are fine, and our power has come back on, but the water company we use has shut off our water. The last storm (and severe amounts of water coming down the Tule and Campbell Creek beds) broke a bunch of water pipes that were located in the dry wash areas of the river. Our water has been shut off for about a week and we have been told not to drink the water. Now the reserves and pressure have started to diminish as local residents have been using the remaining water for showers and dishes.
We do not have an expected time when the pipes will be fixed, or when it will be safe to drink the water again. We will be going down into Porterville to pick up some cases of water bottles today, and some additional water free hand sanitizer and cleaners. Our biggest concern right now is when the water shuts off completely. We do not have any water reserved for the animals, but they have large enough buckets to last for a while.
Just an update from us on the situation. Lessons should be able to resume on Saturday when we dry out from the storm today and tomorrow. Thank you all for your flexibility with shifting lessons around and checking in on us. We really appreciate all of you!
